I have a 1970 K5- I've been told that 'technically' it is a K10;
if this is true then what does my emblem say K5? Furthermore,
if a K5 is in reality a K10 WHY is it called a K5???????????????
Thanks for any input..................................just joe:confused:

Think of it like a light half ton. Standard K10's have a longer wheelbase, and can handle slightly more weight than a K5 can.

All blazers are referred to as a K5, 1/2 ton trucks are K10, 3/4 ton are K20, and 1 ton are K30. The "K" denotes 4 wheel drive. There are years that they starting calling them 1500, 2500, 3500 but not sure when that cgange took place.

When I was in high school, one of my friends had about a '76 two wheel drive Blazer. I don't remember looking at the fender emblem, but I think it said "K5". Wouldn't it technically be a "C5"? I don't remember what it said on the side.
