Like I said, I'm trying to make some room. If I trade my bench seat out for blazer buckets, will my boy's car seat fit in the middle? I have an 81 k30. I'm thinking that I can build some sort of buddy seat for the car seat that will sit lower than the stock bench seat and still use the middle seat belt. What do you guys and gals think?

I would not mess with it unless you really know the safest way to set it up. I would not take any chances

Go do a search on pirate. it seems there was someone who had adapted a racing bucket seat to accept a "toddler seat". It was a while ago, so be diligent.

PRP Raccing seats, that a lot of us memebers here use, makes a real nice blostered offroad suspension seat for the little ones. Looks just like a miniture version on the adult seat. Saw it in person and is real cool. Here's a link to their site. Got to "seats" and scroll down near the bottom and find the three kids seats. Pricey but worth every penny when it comes to kids safety.

Thanks for the help guys. I've been racking my brain on this for a while now. Believe me, I won't do anything that isn't safe for when it comes to my boy. I don't know, it just seems like there would be a little more room in the cab with buckets instead of a bench seat. He is getting bigger and soon his feet will be right about where reverse is. I thought that with buckets maybe I would be able to mount his seat a little closer to the floor board and somewhat out of the way of the shifter. Thanks again.
