My F-250 just got impounded! my wife called, she took it over to South Carolina to take our daughter to get my wifes new car at the dealer.
on her way back into georgia, she got pulled over. they said my truck was "too big" to be on the road and said they were impounding it!
why didn't they just give her an inspection ticket and send her on her way?!?
called my friend who's a D.A. and my neighbor who is a judge and they said they would handle it, but that sux!

That my friend is the definition of a PR!CK for a cop. Let us know how it turns out. Got a pic of this F250?

OOPS! almost forgot! 20" suspension lift with 49" Irok's on a 2005 f-250( yes, I know, it's a Furd. go ahead, get the jokes out of your system)

i'll get some and post em.

these are the pics the guy e-mailed me when I was interested in buying it.
hell, I've only had it 2 WEEKS! just got Georgia tags tuesday!
my wife has a mud truck with 44's, so she knows how to drive a lifted truck, she was following my daughter who is terrified of speeding cuz she knows i'll take away her car if she gets a ticket.
if there is more to it, i dont get it....... i think the guy WISHES he could afford a nice rig!

I'm a GA resident too. I'm not sure what our lift laws are. I bet all you got to do is be in violation of one of them and he is allowed to impound your rig. I know in my county (Hall) we dont have emissions OR saftey inspections. I think its crazy not to have saftey inspections.

Wow, I don't like Furds, but I do like lifted rigs and that one way hi. Good luck on this bullshi*. Have you found out what the lift laws are in your state? That would be a good start.

I hope however towed the truck payed close attention to what they were doing.

from offroaders.com....

If you modify the OE bumper more than 2 inches above (or below, for that matter) the manufacturer's spec, don't be surprised if you're cited.

but there are DOZENS of lifted rigs in my area.......

2" above or below?!?! thats b/s every damn truck i see around here has a mild lift and a step up in tire size. that would make them all illegal.

I think your bumper height may be about two feet above the legal limit for GA.

Maybe you should research state law a little better to make sure you are in compliance, and then form a committee with the goal of changing said law.................

well, i found out that my friends towing company towed it, i called him and he said the tow would be no charge. so, thats good news. i trust him. thet had to use his lowboy trailer to haul it. he said his guy showed up with a rollback and told the cop he needed to get a lowboy cause it wouldn't fit.
the cops told him "HURRY UP AND GET THIS REDNECK PIECE OF SH!T OFF MY HIGHWAY"
what a D!CK!!!!

bet he drives a Kia!

what a D**K. dang city slickers like him make us rednecks look bad. he's just jealous cause he grew up in the city with no land and we can have fun all night drinking and tearing it up. lol no for real though i hate cops like that.

that is what scares me the most when i get my rig towed. watched a wrecker pull up to my mom's 81 T/A and just hooked it to the front and lifted. i'm like "HELLO...have you never heard of unibody. that will mess up all kinds of stuff."
well atleast the guy was your friend and knew what he was doin. a guy tried pullin my Blazer up on the hauler and got it bout halfway and burnt the winch motor up. he resorted to putting it on the back with the dolly thing. straps wouldn't fit so he just ran themn through my wheels. raised the front of the hauler up. i was so freaked out he was gonna wreck with it on the back.

Sounds like you have enough hook ups to get out of this without to much cost. I would be very careful around your neck of the woods until you can get a good handle on what this officer is going to be doing. I wouldn't push it or him, you don't want all of them gunnin' for ya.
