WOW!!!!! I just read the entire thing. Both good points and bad points made.
If your truck was 2" over the limit it probably wouldn't have been pulled over. 2 feet would make a difference. If you are going 66 in a 65 zone you probably won't get pulled over, if you go 96........ You broke the law, deal with it. If I was a cop that saw a vehicle blatantly breaking the law, I would own you.

As far as the comments the cop made...........so what. Who doesn't talk like that. I have yet to see an employee who doesn't talk some kind of smack about the people he deals with after they are out of ear shot. The level of professionalism only extends to the apparent line of dealing with someone directly.
As far as all the other directions this thread has gone......People are responsible for their own decisions and actions only. It's not someone elses fault they did what they did. Its not their fault someone else did what they did.
If you make a bad choice you will have to deal with the concequences(sp)
