well, actually I'll need to put it out in front of my shop, b/c i have a very low ceiling, but I've been looking at the 2 post car lifts, seems a basic one runs about $1500. anyone have a 2 post lift? any that you really like & would recommend or any you hate & would never buy again?

anyone know how big of a concrete footing one of these lifts need under each post? i need to figure that cost in as well.

I don't own a lift (yet)...but when I do buy one, it will be a two post. To me a four post wouldn't be practical. You have limited access to the undercarage, can't lift a body off a frame (well you can, but not high enough), need a seperate jack to raise vehicle off the lift.

The only way I'd consider a 4 post is if I were to use it to only stack (store) cars.

I think I saw a post in the tool shed about what size footings you will need.
