Hello.

So i bought a 1981 Suburban recently.
It has a 454 engine, great machine.
It has been imported to the Netherlands in 2010,
I am trying to get some history on the car, because i like to know as much as possible about the car.

Anyone know how i can get some info ?
I know it was serviced in Ellisville, Missouri in 2005.
The rest is unknown for now.
Vin number is:
1G8GC26W8BF130860

Any info is much appreciated!

Regards
Marcel

That truck spent a large part of its life with out car fax. There were no computer records before warenty was up.
if the truck didn't come with paper records of repairs and service, it probably gone.
Gm post 2000 might have any service done at a dealership, idk how long m gm maintains records.
The Rpo sticker in glove box will have all the options equipped, decipher on internet.
Example G80 would be a locking rear differential, or C60 will be air conditioning
Welcome to the club. 454 in Europe, you could start a hauling company.

Unless you got a pile of records in the glove box when the truck came to you there's not going to be much anybody here is going to be able to tell you about the history.

GM however may be able to give you a copy of the original invoice that the original selling dealer would have got for the truck by following the instructions on the link here:

For another $50 GM can also give you a breakdown of the VIN number and any literature they have on file for the year of truck. It may contain any or all of these:
  • Divisional Engineering Specifications
  • AMA/MVMA Specifications
  • Product Selling Information/Salesperson's Guides
  • Options and Accessories Information
  • Paint and Trim Guides
  • Sales Literature
  • Owner's Literature
  • Production Volumes

Good Luck and welcome!

Hi guys.
Thanks for the reply.

I will have a look.
Unfortunately no paper service records of any kind with the car, so it's a puzzle.

I already contacted the company in Ellisville, maybe they have something for me.

No info in the glove box,
i think the interior has been refurbished by the looks of it, as it is in a very good shape.
The glove box looks like it is almost brand new, so maybe it was replaced already in the past.

My search will continue.

Cheers,
Marcel

Yes the plastic hinge on glove box likes to tear. I am on my second, and will soon be doing a 3rd. My Rpo code are long gone as well.
