Ingersoll-Rand 3/8 impact sale!!!!!

Id say a little less then half as big and half as heavy. Its surprising how much torque this little thing can put out. At work, it will break loose everything from 1/2 bolts on down with ease in most cases.

I have used that very gun and as soon as i get a bit more cash flow going i intend to buy one. Man i love them for doing over head work. Wayy easier on the arms than a big 1/2 inch gun. and 260 lb ft is plenty for most jobs.

they are a nice luxury. if your only gonna have one gun, the 1/2 is probably the way to go. but the 3/8 is sweet for stripping motors, etc...

i have a 1/2" IR air, Snap On 3/8" air and 1/2" 18 volt cordless. the cordless by far gets the most workout for me being mobile out on the docks all day. but i find the 3/8 gets almost all the shop air work.. seems my IR 1/2 sits alot of the time..

A 3/8 impact is a waste of time and money IMO.

I am sure the 3/8's impact is going to be smaller than your 1/2" one Tim, if you ever get in a tight spot where you NEED an impact, and the 1/2" one wont fit, thats when you need the 3/8" one. I dont have one yet, but sooner or later I will get one.

I spent $200 on my 1/2" gun, I certainly hope it's the only one I need.

I think I'm going to take a part time wrenching job though, so maybe I will end up with one sooner or later. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

You ever owned a 3/8 impact?

[/ QUOTE ]

Nope. Used one before though, not enough power. No reason to buy one.

I do own an air ratchet if I want to use a gutless tool.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not enough power? Get a good one then, not a Wal Mart gun. IR TNT. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif That things ridiclous.

The only air impact I own is an IR 2335TI, aka, TNT gun....

I was talking about a 3/8" TNT /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Said it once, I'll say it again, waste of money. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I've got a 3/8 impact and like someone said earlier, it's good for tight spaces and alot quicker for striping down a motor than a 3/8 ratchet. just my .02

You have to remember... Tim is a expert at stuff he has NEVER owned or TRIED!

I'll be getting one when I can sqeeze it into the budget. My half inch is great, but I definitly want a 3/8 drive for all around use... then maybe a 3/8 butterfly after that... can't have too many air tools.../forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I just fail to see the use. anyone can be a tool junkie--and I'm one usually to buy every tool in sight....but I simply cannot understand how that tool could be worth the $$$ to keep around the shop.

And I have used one before. Not the TNT one.

I would love to own the 3/4" version of my TNT gun though.

I've had mine for 5 years now...used daily...not oiled daily as it should...takes the abuse...loved it so much i bought the 1/2 and 3/4 version....
