454 SS truck worth more than what? A Plymouth Horizon?

Yeah, 454SS original trucks are rare, but they can't hold a candle in collector value to a 50's vette, early teens first gen ford pickup, or any other "antique" truck or car that has all original components. you find an all original model T, and tell me how much the guy wants to sell it for, I've seenthem go in mint condition in the Rust Belt for more than 20k... and it's got like a 25hp 4 cylinder... The problem is, you just can't find them anywhere.

Lets not turn this into a pissing match over what's more valuable though... we are sorely getting off topic...

well thanks for all the help, clifford has us on the right path, not sure what happened with this turning into a numbers matching debate thoug, lol. and it is in amazing condotion. we would love put in a big block, 350 or crate engine, but like i said 1,000 dollars total, not a penny more, so unless someone has one of theese options with absolutly everything we need to make the swap for 1,000 that is not an option.

he traded: a 96 diesel f-350 (x-tra long, panal sides past the rear passanger doors) van on 32' bfg m/t's that has a rear bench seat that reclines into a bed, then a custom wall seperating the back that is set up for holding two atvs and a dirtbike or three dirt bikes and our crap; he recieved the blazer (just gone thru and rebuilt) some other things and 1,000 dollars. living in the mountians he needed four wheel. but that van could sure romp it, and was awsome as a support vehicle.

Odd... I know it's like a Ford and stuff... but why didn't you just convert it to 4wd... it wouldn't have been hard, and the way it sounds, it would have been quite trail worthy...

In fact, a big ass van like that doesn't really need 4wd, my old E-150 351 RWD pulled a 4wd Suburban out of 2 feet of muck up north one year... we wrote swamp buck on the side of that burb cuz we thought it was never coming out... =) That van was running on 29inch A/T tires... nothing special, just balls to the wall power.

If you had spent $1000.00 on the van, you could have gotten a transfer case a new front drive axle, and probably been able to pay for the re-framing needed for the extra parts as well as the welding...

I know that you didn't have the $1000 until you got the Blazer, but all brand loyalty aside, I would have kept the van if it could really haul all that stuff...
