inners with lots of fender trimming

I kept MOST of mine. I did a HUGE cut on the fronts, and I cut high enough that I could pinch the inner skin of te fender it self to the outside, and layed a bead on the whole edge, which really strenghthened the fender. I could almost jack the truck up by them, that strong. Then for the inner, I had to cut a ton off the back, but no big deal. I was more worried about the top and front cause that's where most road grime and crap could hit anything that matters, so I used a propane torch to take some of the timber out of the metal, beat the sh!t out of it with my BFH and welded/bolted it back up. I'm not as into looks as some of the pictures on here, it definatly doesn't look stock, but it doesn't look terrible either. I'm now running 36 inch swampers with a 2 inch lift, and I hit bump stops before anything rubs. This pic is when I was running 34x10.5 15s with no lift at all.

I have seen some people in town run thick black rubber matting like the kind you might use for a man made pond bottom layer. They used nuts and bolts with big washers to bolt them to the fenders and I am not quite sure what they use to attach it on the inside but they can be taken off and changed out if they get ruinned. I will probably do the same to my truck. The only draw back I could see from it is that the fender might not be able to take as many hits...

This is pretty interesting info. I cut my fenders and with my 36 inch tires and 6 inch of lift I still re-arranged my inner fenderwells. :( Thanks for the insight!
