I can't get collector insurance on the Blazer , trucks too ugly now .
By me, there is "Hobbyist" Plates, It works if your vehical has been really heavily moded.

My friend has a toyota with a custom frame, Chevy 454, Th400, dual cases, and 60's with 5.88 (?) gears on 38's and hes the one who told me about the plates. I got some pics of it all nice and clean on the trailier if you all wanna see.

when i lived in missouri there was the typical safty inspec, for lights window tint tires etc but no smog unless you lived in stl.
now here in the panhandle of fl there is nothing at all ever. though it might be different in like miami or something.

Here in Utah it is a bit different. Some counties have emissions, others do not. Luckily I live in one without emissions, but I still have to pass safety. When I had my 80 inspected they checked floorboards (fail), exhaust (fail), turn signals, headlights, wipers, horn, brakes, tires, ball joints, windshield, mirrors, and they are supposed to check any lift to make sure you are not too high. When a car is eight years or less old, it only has safety and emissions every other year, then must have safety and emissions every year there after. Cost is 17 dollars for two wheel drive trucks, and 22 for four wheel drive trucks. The cost difference is based on the fact that most four wheel drives (3/4 ton and higher) require disassembly of the hub to get into the brakes for inspection.

Oh and the state is cracking down on those who do not inspect everything, and they have pulled several licenses for life. Near my house there are only two or three shops in 20 miles that can still do safety. The state is pushing to make it so we will have to go to state run inspection shops, then they will really have control.

in arkansas no inspection of any kind...have 2 have ins. 2 get tags!
no inspection, but there are laws and the man inspects if/when u get pulled over...think they get to write more tickets this way!

Nothing at all in KY. :D They just check that the VIN matches the paperwork and that you are insured.

I have "historic" plates from MI on my Fairlane. They are supposed to be good for 10yrs, I'll get KY "historic" when that happens in 8.5 more years. :haha:
