Installed new injectors on 90 TBI, now it won't start.

:thumb: Yes it is finally fixed and runs fine.

The problem?

The gas gauge lied to me. The tank was empty. :haha: I went and bought 5 gallons of gas, poured it in, and it started right up!

Jessie James does it again!:draw:

Yeah, I figured it out thanks to the suggestion to re-assemble the FPR. When I took all that apart it was bone dry in there. No fuel poured out of the assembly, the inlet line was dry, and there was no fuel in the injector housings. I took off the fuel line in front of the fuel filter and some fuel came out. So I turned the truck on with the line off to see if any fuel came out ... nothing. Then I thought to myself "I wonder if the gas gauge is right? The fuel pump sounds different..." so I put some gas in ... vroom!

Glad it's running again. Did you have the FPR assembled incorrectly as well?

Not that I could tell. When I took it apart there was no fuel coming through the inlet line. It was bone dry. I also turned on the ignition with the entire FPR/injector assembly removed to see if fuel was being delivered at all and nothing happened.

So ... no gas seemed to be the problem.

Now ... to add a catalytic converter and see if it passes smog. Then I will have to figure out why the brake warning light came on. Then new tires. Then some interior bits (carpet/dash/door panels/seats) to make it livable. :)

Then ... :draw:

Glad U "fixed" it with relative ease...would've like to have kept mine f.i. but oh well...bought an 86 last yr n salt lake city...new motor is done as of today...picking it up @ 1 shop only to drop it off @ another for maint...lol...glad its ONLY money rite??? lol

Thanks.

Yeah, I am tight on funds so I am probably going to just pick up something cheap for now. Besides, with the bad valves it's blowing a small amount of smoke which will probably kill the cat in quick order, so no need to go good for now.

When I pull the heads (probably next spring) if I have enough money I was joking with the wife and telling her I was going to put a supercharger on there. She was not happy! :draw:

Hey good news, my shop manual arrived.

Bad news - it doesn't cover TBI at all! So thanks to everyone here for the tips. :)
