Intake manifold

it will burn regular paint, around the heat crossover (center of intake manifold by the bolts)

I have painted complete engines with regular automotive body paint and never had an issue with the paint burning off. I have NEVER had any luck with paint on exhaust manifolds or headers of any kind. The best option for those are Jet-Hot coating.

Why would you suggest the Jet-Hot coating? Just wondering

Jet Hot is the only coating i've seen that doesn't burn off or discolor on exhaust components. It has a nice luster of silver on the outside and it keeps the underhood temps down and since the inside of the exhaust gets coated as well it also helps to move the exhaust gases through the header more freely.

yeah that's true, didn't think of it that way... thanks for the quick reply!

everything on an intake will hold up fine with just about anything out of a rattlecan, except as mentioned, around the exhaust x-over...

Scott brought up an interesting point that I've never mentioned or seen mentioned, which is why I'm replying..

psssssst, guys, little secret, best paint for an engine block ever?

Imron.....

Use high heat and radiator paint from Krylon . White under the intake ( remove rivets on heat shield and reattach after ) . I used black on top side of intake.

Went a year plus with this in AZ , and the paint is still there , clean it very good so the paint sticks <-----

. PM Juanblazer for after pics , as this is his now and I removed it ( I m going TBI ) :D
