Intake sealing woes...

Ryoken, I agree that it is kinda scary, but I have heard (but not tried it myself) that if you have stubborn intake manifold end leak, that stacking two cork gaskets can work. The idea is that stacking provides additional height to fill a larger gap, and the cork can compress a bit if it is too tall. Obviously you wouldn't use two if one would work. And yes, don't use RTV or silicone with the cork, use the sealer stuff to glue it all together. I have some green stuff I really like - can't remember the name of it but it works very well.
 
Only thing I can add,, is to spray the end rails and bottom sealing surfaces of the manifold with brake cleaner prior to laying down a THICK bead of black silicone...

make sure your gaskets are in place and set the manifold straight down,,,and try not to move it around too much after you set it on the heads.

Have all your bolts ready and work fast before the silicone starts to set up and torque 'er down...
