Integrated Rollcage into the Body

Thats what I will most likely end up doing is some type of exo rear protection and then some extra fender protection up front. I'm going to try to keep it from being to obnoxious as I think some people get carried away. I also didnt want to add to much weight either.

Were you thinking of welding the body to the sliders or keeping them separate?

I am not shure, I have the toybox sliders and I am against how they mount, a few hard slams and the sliders would be kissing my thighs. I would rather just tie them into the frame using poly bushings to allow some flex.

For my rear protection going around the wheel well I would like to have a few links tieing it into the frame and a cross bar between the left and right side running under the body lift. I beleive the crossbar will add a but load of ridigity to the body protection. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

That's what MtPockets did for the most part. I thought about something simular. Make the fenders removable like a pre runner. Have the tube under them. Leave the fenders at camp. I a wuss like Steve and want to be able to run my top to keep the A/C in.

There is a feature on a Early Bronco in this months issue of 4 Wheel Drive with a intregrated roll cage. I think the design is just a simple 6-point cage, but it is built inside the body, so you can't see any of it...

The Toy Box sliders mashed up my body mounts and popped the welds on the quarter panels for me. I think they are a good medium duty slider but not hard core.

I guess to be fair they did save me a shitload of damage. My body would have been ruined without them. They just didnt do a 100% job. I'll end up pulling them off and repainting them and selling them or something.
