Interesting new EFI systems

I'd consider getting one of these new systems if they could work with my in-tank pump. I believe they all require higher pressure than a GM TBI pump though, right? Dropping the tank and running fuel lines is miserable work.

Needs 43 psi. So a pump would need changed

There is a drop in pump that will up the psi for newer systems. I think it's a delco 486, iirc.

The EP381 is a nice replacement, LS pump.

255lph and 108 psi max

acdelco ep381 gets you mid 60 . and its oem spec for 1996 c3500 350/5.7L vortec engine . its plug and play .

have it in my truck and ran my last system at 58.5 psi just fine .
Yup. When I put the fitech on mine I bought a tbi k5 drop in tank. Swapped the tbi pump for a ep381 (plug n play) and away we went.

Plus all the routing too, right? I redid all my routing for TBI, but since the pressure is low, I still have hose clamps and such in some places. Not sure it would all hold up to 60 psi or whatever.

At this point, it’s almost the same price if you were to buy a carb and intake, mechanical fuel pump, larger lines and a fuel tank etc. there’s no real reason not to.

I have no problems tuning carbs, however if you live in a place like I do where there’s a 80 degree change in temperature outside not to mention rain, fog, snow, sunshine etc it can make it kind of not fun to constantly be tinkering with a carb. And it’s a proven fact that a properly functioning EFI is easier on the engine, delivers easier starting, warm up and better drivability.

Hell my dad wants to put one on his 72 C60 grain truck.

after all my reading and looking i think edelbrock pro flo 4 is a smoking deal for the options it offers all in 1 package / progressive linkage / easy program for instant changes / intake up designed for efi with port injection . you even get the full timing control with dist in the box for it . just need a pump thats easy for us truck guys to do with efi tank and sender offered in 87-91 . and lines there not hard to lay out .

i dont say this about the edelbrock pro flo 4 kit cause i own one BUT have yet to install it will be soon . but if you look at all the options and what it gives you compared to the other 2 main stream offerings its got them beat for the price point i think .
