interesting read on a clasic ford 84 show truck

Well considering it has flowmaster mufflers on it, sitting in sideways, I doubt those are factory, by any means. I don't believe hardly any of that story. Is he trying to sell it?

Ford is in the market for making cars and money, why would they spend 4 times the normal time to make sure the paint on this one truck is perfect?

Even if that were the case, why would Ford hang on to a 14 year old 460? Not only that, but corporate pride would have them stuff their own hotter cam, aluminum valve covers etc etc etc. all that aftermarket stuff just send a big red flag up for me.

Somebody should get ahold of the seller and call his bluff.

I think it was probably built in mid 80's originally, but not by ford for all the aftermarket stuff previously mentioned, maybe a ford exec? and the braided spark plug wires and 16.5's scream 80's. My guess is that the thing is maybe 1/2 what he says it is.

in that pic directory the 11th pic shows the door and fender not lining up so well, and headers and dual exhaust, even on a emission exempt truck in the 80's theres no way an OEM would do that on something that would be allowed to go to the public. and I think over 25 years the front spring probably would settle a bit to cause the tire lean.
edit # 2, some engine pics show the black paint below the fins on the MT valve covers and some dont.

This same truck has been in the alignment shop 3 times already in the past 10 years.

3 times in 10 years, gosh... most of them are there 3 times a year! HA HA!

An old buddy of mine (and he was a Ford nut too!) once told me, the Twin I-Beam (And TTB/Twin Traction Beam) was invented by Ford to keep alignment shops in business. I never knew what he meant... until I owned one. (or, it pwned me, Im not sure...)

I can't get over this pic. Anyone can see this truck has been masked and repainted.

I would wonder if it were so perfect, would you put a load of any type in the bed? Seems like you wouldn't want to do that either. :dunno:

Definitely clean. Clean enough it would do me no good.

Would I use it as a truck... hell yeah.

I am not one for the keep it stock... show room museum thing.

I would use it... no matter what the story is.

My 92 F250 has TTB and in the last 2 years I have owned it I haven't had and issues. Some day it will get F350 springs and a D60 front so I wasn't worried about it to much.
