Interesting Valuation Article Top 10

This must be what folks are basing prices on now. Old K series 4x4's that I could get for $500-1000 that are setting in the bushes by a house, people have been throwing out some crazy numbers at me.

Think to many around my area were hauled to the scrap yard during high metal prices....:(

Ever so often I will find one cheap.

Wow not what I expected to see, I suppose that's good for us that have them already??

I saw a post from Hagerty last month that showed the 73-91 Blazers jump from 500 something to the top 10 on their list. The pickups have been up there for awhile.

Now that being said there will always be $1500 73-87 trucks out there. Clean originals can bring big dollars, but lots of these rigs were used as trucks their whole life and are priced accordingly. K30s, V series, Crew Cabs all continue to surge. It's cool to see Blazers climbing.

Thank all the reality auto shows too. Once bargains, now everyone watches Gas Monkey, Counts Customs, Mecum Auctions and numerous other shows and think they are sitting on a diamond.

Values for rusted out POS trucks around me are definitely climbing.
I saw a K20 plow truck for sale on the side of the road the other night so I stopped to check it out. It was an '87 with TBI 350/400/208 with a 14bff. The plow setup looked okay, some typical rust on the rockers, the interior looked pretty decent though and the dash pad was mint. But as I walked around the back the tailgate was missing and the rear bumper was all caved in against the bed. As I go around to the passenger side I shine my flashlight up the side and holy crap the whole passenger side was destroyed. The truck must have been T-boned or something. I couldn't walk away fast enough.
The guy wanted $2500 for it too. A rusted out beat up, totalled plow truck. What the hell was he smoking?

These 2 are for sale in MA,one 10 miles away (the K10 w/plow) and the GMC 3/4 ton one is about 60 miles north of me..
I'd love to grab the '87 GMC if I didn't already have three unregistered vehicles (and a roof that needs re-shingling badly that has top priority)...hard to find even a rotted out P-O-S around here under a grand as far as square body 4x4's go now..87 Chevy Pick Up 4X4

About 5 years ago I started shopping for my current truck. Wanted an unmodified 1987-1991 K5. I couldn't believe where the prices were. Even trucks with cancer on fenders, rockers, and quarters were bringing 2 to 2500. I wanted a pretty much cancer free truck. I found my current K5 for 3500 bucks, silverado with every option, and knew I payed out the nose. But not dealing with cancer was worth it.

Fast forward to this past week and I was doing some browsing. I can only find a few locally but the listed prices are now 5000 to 8000 bucks. Might not bring that of course but it won't be too far off.

well...if you read the valuation, the increase is mostly on"Fair", "Good", "Excellent" and unattainable "Concours"

Blazers in those conditions have to be getting more rare....Pickups..maybe not as much...but we are in the 45 years old age point on these 70's Blazers

The days of finding and buying a mostly rust free Blazer for $1000 have to be coming to an end...just by attrition

I perused cl today, saw several k5s over the 30k mark. Crackheads....
