A little info from my research......

I just recieved two sets of samples from StockInteriors.com and ACCmats.com

I must say that both sets look to be from the same manufacturer. I have one color in particular, look identical in color and texture. What I'm guessing is that they are the same and StockInteriors is cheaper by a lot!

Also, it looks like I can add the mass backing from StockInteriors too for $99 now.

There is one color that may match more closely from ACC. I asked SI if they could cross reference and they said yes. Just let them know it's an ACC code and they will match it.

Although I'm basing this off of 2" x 2" samples.....they look pretty close.

Price SI w/mass and shipping - $368.90
Price ACC w/mass and shipping - $712.81

Update:

I finally got some samples from stockinteriors and ACC. A few of the samples from each company matched identically but had slightly different numbers to them. I actually liked the shade of the ACC carpet but certainly didn't like the price.

I did call up ACC and ask if they would price match stockinteriors and they said no. I told him the samples I received from both companies looked to be identical and he told me that stockinteriors buys from them but at wholesale prices. That is why they can sell it so cheaply....volume pricing. But he still wouldn't match the price. :dunno:

I called stockinteriors and told them I actually liked ACC's color better than the samples they sent me. He said no problem, just give them ACC's color code and they can order that specific one for me. No problem. I also asked about the mass backing.....no problem. We'll just add it to the order. He did say that in fact, ACC would probably "drop ship it" to me. Stockinteriors said they try to disguise some of the numbers a little bit to keep thigs different but they all come from the same place. Just be sure to let them know what company's color code you like.

Well, about 5 days later, I recieved the carpet and strangely, it arrived in an ACC box. I guess it's the same stuff but at a cheaper price! :woot:

Anyways, I started installing and it looks great! Definitely thicker than the stock but I think that will help a lot with the noise. Pretty much a sweet deal!

Here are some pics......

Did you get the carpet on the wheel wells to fit?
Sent you email back.

Yea, I got it. I had it upside down (or backwards). It fits much better now. :waytogo:

Teck - After installing the jute mat on the wheel wells, I notice that due to the thickness, the floor carpet now curls up just a little bit because the distance has been reduced slightly. I've been thinking about razor blading the edges to get it to sit flat but don't really want to cut the nice edging. Did yours settle down a bit or did you trim yours? After having the jute matting and the mass backing, it tends to take up a little real estate.

the interior sound is much quieter now! Of course, anything is better than bare metal in the back.....

No did not trim any off. It does just a little but not bad. I know what you are talking about, I had the carpet pulled back while I was put the frame back under it last night.

I just ordered my carpet kit through Classic Parts, which also retails ACC. I paid $225.:waytogo:

Looks good

ACC is good stuff. That is what I used with the mass backing also.

did you guys order the plush or ultra plush?

did this include the lower door carpet?

I got the ones that went with carpet kit for for an 86.
Then I changed the vent things out with the factory ones because the ones that came in looked cheap.

My kit came with front/rear area, rear cargo area, wheel wells and the two small patches in the bench seat area, just under the seat belt units for the driver's and passengers. In the above pics, you can see where the lower seat belt bolt goes through the carpet material......this is the piece that comes with the kit. The lower door sections do NOT come with the kit.

The jute matting that came with the kit was minimal for the front area and I couldn't cover everything 100%. I just stuck with the matting that was already there and then used the extra for the rear cargo area.

ACC also sent me a roll of jute for the rear as well (I requested this up front when placing the order). When the box arrived, it did not have the extra jute for the rear so I called StockInteriors and they sent me out a roll for free. :waytogo: With the roll and the partial up front material, I was able to cover the rear cargo area as well as the wheel wells 100%.

Fyi - I also got the mass backing like Teck. It does help with the sound but also crowds the material.....especially between the wheel wells.

Still, great improvement for $350 or so!

So is ACC the cheapest/ most reliable carpet place to order from? After I patch up my floor I want to put some bedliner all in it. I didn't think I would want to mess with carpet, but this looks and sounds pretty cool.

I got carpet for my crew cab from automotive interiors and it was ACC stuff too. I think most major companys use ACC

They just don't advertise it as such because if everyone knew that no one would buy from ACCs website where the price is alot higher
