Anyone doing anything trick with their interior? Got tips and tricks?

I'd love to see a separate forum for this kind of thing.

Edit: We got the forum... this is it. No need to continue voting.

Theres already overlap on the forums . Basic unpaid in garage , basic paid in the proper years , custom has already shown up in audio and communication , and even more in the resto forum .

Well I haven't seen much in the way of custom stuff... maybe I should've made that more clear. For example, the stuff Ryoken is doing would be perfect for a forums like I'm talking about.

I think it's a great idea because it seems like people get frustrated when there's a question about interior in the garage. Good idea.

Go into the audio forum , manipulate the bottom of the page menus so you see all posts from the beginning , and there are plenty of custom interiors with stereo components , WITH PICS :waytogo:

Also a good idea for things like restoration, how too's on building center consol, it can go on and on.

Yeah, custom upholstery, door panels, dashboards, etc. Troubleshooting interior lighting and electronic problems is also a strong topic.

Perhaps we should just have a Ryoken Forum

or at least make his build thread sticky

i thought about a '69 k5 registry:woot::thinking:...lets count em up and locate them and see how many of the >5000:deal: made are left...sorry for hijack, you talking about a new forum:bow: made me remember thinking about this...is there 1 already somewhere on the internet? if not lets count them!

Agreed... When I came to CK5 it was more about getting answers on how to fix my truck than it was about modding it for off road. Some folks on here are running stock trucks with no plans to change (Artzner comes to mind immediately) and/or may need restoration tips, as someone else mentioned.

Electrical is also a fine idea.

When i read it i thought the same thing :haha:

I'd like to see a forum myself cause i'll be doing the stepside this year.

I'd like it. I'm looking for ideas for rear interior panels myself. I suppose my main problem is a lack of metal suppliers down here in the Keys.:doah:

I'm gathering ideas for them myself... Still unsure about which way I want to go with them. A lot of it has to do with whether or not I find a half-cab kit, which is pretty unlikely. :(

I have come up with a few ideas while doing a search. I am trying to keep the interior water hose/rain friendly and I want to do it out of diamond plate and then Herc over it. Unfortunately I'm having a hard time finding anything other than a 4x4 sheet of paper thin crap down here so I might end up using marine plywood. I can work with wood a little better than I can metal anyway.:D

I thought about using fiberglass / carbon fiber / ABS plastic... something impervious to the elements and moisture. I think ABS would be my last choice, for lack of rigidity.

Sheet metal would be best, I agree, but probably hardest to work with. I want internal subwoofer boxes in them, so that the subs are flush mounted. Then mount everything using security screws so that it's a royal PITA to steal. :D

Oh yeah, marine-grade audio equipment is a must.
