lmc, classic parts, dosnt remake them. dose any one else? maroon not mcdonalds red like lmc.

I have a set of the maroon panels. I wasn't ever planning on using them for anything other than templates to make new ones.

If I can get them out of storage I'll PM you.

I'm on the fence about whether to add them or convert to a half-cab kit. If I install them, I'll be making the new ones from a black, textured PVC or ABS plastic that comes in huge sheets and is about 1/4" thick (thicker is available).

Either way, that storage unit is about an hour away, so I don't go there often. But if/when I do, I'll grab them and let you know if you haven't found any by then.

hey that would be great. mine got all messed up being left out in the rain to often. how much would you want for em, what kind of shape would they be in?

Hey, weren't you supposed to get them out before now and make some templates?:whistle::deal:

I know, I know... :doah:

They're far away. :(

When I do the templates, I'm going to try to put them in the form of a technical drawing that can easily be emailed to people, that way folks can make them as plain or fancy as they like, with whatever material they want.

I have no idea. I wouldn't want much, especially if I were selling them to another CK5er.

They're decent shape. Not awesome. Like I said, I'm obligated to make some good templates before selling them. Lectric80 needs them.

Honestly, I think you'd be ahead to make new ones from a template. The originals are made of a pressed fiberboard that's prone to separation. Mine have some rough edges and probably wouldn't last long. If you were careful, you could probably remove the vinyl and install it over a new board, but I think making a new one with new vinyl would be the way to go. It wouldn't be hard to replicate the factory look and you'd have more custom options available to you...

My $.02

i could use templates too. mine got wet a number of times and the fiber board practically dissolved. they totally fell apart when i stripped the interior. if you buy a small roll of construction paper you could roll it out and lay out the templates, then mail them in mailing tubes. i'd be willing to pay for the expense.

I was actually planning to do that originally. Although now I'm leaning toward using some CAD software to get the angles down cleanly, then printing them on a plotter. (I have access to the stuff for free)

Regardless of how I produce them, I was planning on sending them out in mailing tubes. If I do it in CAD format, I could just email them out, and you could probably get Kinkos or some similar place to just print them out on the plotter.

Have you made any progress on making some templates? I would be interested in these as well.

No, but I plan to soon. Right now I have two storage units, and the one with the templates is about an hour away. I need to consolidate the two into one. It'd save me $70 a month. When I do that I'll have the panels and can make up the templates, especially now that it's getting warm outside and I'll have the room to do it.

Unfortunately, no... :doah:

Still haven't been able to schedule a time to get out there and clean out that storage unit. I really need to, since it's costing me an additional $70 a month, and I have enough room in the storage unit that's close to me to fit all that stuff in there.

No prob, just checkin' in. I started looking around here to see if I could find some crappy ones so I could at least start planning out some shelves and lock boxes but it would appear that there isn't a spare set within 250 miles.

I have some really good fitting wooden ones that I'm using to have new ones made I will get them down this weekend and could draw you some patterns.

I'm having some made to look like the original ones, got vinyl at the upholstery supply warehouse and extra carpet from ACC to match the carpet kit I got.

Iwill post pic when my upholestry friend gets them put together

That was my original plan. I had one good 'blank' made from a template.

I basically traced the original panel onto 1/4" plywood. That made a rough template. The fact that there's vinyl covering with padding underneath throws off the measurements on the template. So you end up having to trim it to fit exactly.

Anyway, I had the plywood trimmed to perfection, and the plan was to cover it in vinyl or naugahyde or something. I've seen the stuff available with a padded backing already on it. It'd save some time, possibly money over getting padding and covering separately.

My blank got ruined somehow...don't remember exactly how.

If I could get over there and get the damn panels the templates would've already been made by now...

I could really use some of those templates and would be really gratefull if I could get a copy of them

My new ones will be finished today, so I will see if I can get some pics. Then I can probably make some patterns before I install.
