interior rear 1/4 panels

Yes I am, they are just in there to check the fit for now. Still need to get some trim washer for the screws and insulation/ sound deadening behind them.

looks good, i have used the pink fiberglass house insulation behind the panels before and it helped quiet things down alot. i just filled the whole cavity behind the panels with it.

Good friend that works at Car Toys, told me to go to Lowes and some roof patch stuff to use. That is what he uses instead of dynamate, look the same, cost way less.

Don't remember what its call, just know it is comes in a roll and is black sticky on one side and silver on the other. But i can call him and ask.

Also seen alot of guy just line every thing with that silver bubble insulation stuff. Suppose to reject heat and sound also. They sell it at lowes too, 25' rolls in differnet widths.

^^^ Pretty sweet ^^^

Is the carpet set straight on the "dynamat" or did you keep the original matting?

Order the carpet with mass backing from ACC, Then put down the padding with the silver heat lining on top. Then added another layer of padding in the back half. Front had alittle padding under the mass backing.

I'm on the fence about whether to add them or convert to a half-cab kit. If I install them, I'll be making the new ones from a black, textured PVC or ABS plastic that comes in huge sheets and is about 1/4" thick (thicker is available).

Where would one be able to get abs panels in 1/4 inch thick? Heck, last time i went looking i couldnt find any form of abs, size shape or whatever. My k5 still has rear panels in it and they look in good condition, hopefully i can use them for templates.

I really hate not being a member, cant see the pictures, paycheck will be here thursday. lol.

I'll ask my brother. He was buying big bulk sheets of the stuff for a different, non-automotive application. IIRC, he was getting them in 4'x8' sheets. He said they came in several different thicknesses, with smooth or textured finishes. The textured was like the dash face on 80's Chevy trucks and cars...similar to "tolex" on guitar and bass amps.

I'm thinking the same stuff may be a way for me to DIY a Ryoken-like dash panel when the time comes, if he hasn't already got it in full production then.
