Intrested in soft tops for K5's? looking into Manufacturing them. update post 118

I am keeping my eyes peeled for fiberglass top near me...one that I can cut on...

there MUST be a way to alter the windshield fram "snap bar" to attach using the existing holes. Surely that could be done with a little ingenuity.
Check out my build thread or Z71paramedic's. He made one for his 1st gen and made some for a few others, including me. I've got a few pics of it installed in my build thread. Should give you some ideas.

WOW! back from the dead. I believe I was trying to build this to use all factory only mounting points so no drilling would be required. It has been in moth balls for a long time of course, but never dead. This K5 project will die when I die unless my son finishes it, if I don't. :D I'm not dead yet, but this won't be touched for god knows how long.

just curious...what does the rdn2 in your name man? is it reverse, drive, neutral 2 :dunno: or intials like Robert David North II ?

I plan to try to make one happen, although I am not interested in selling them...if I make one that works I'd like make the process available but I got no desire to market and try to sell something that there is so little demand for.

I mean, just how many full verts are out there that the owner doesn't want to drill on it because he's trying to keep it stock?

i do like your idea of cutting a top to make a place for the mounting hardware to go

i know it's been a while but was wondering if any updates on that top? i purchased a STC top with missing a few parts like the frame rails that mount around the cab, so been wanting some ideas to keep the water out because i just screwed the top down to body,
