Introducing the mid west to east coast hauler

View attachment 231117
Ok so the plan. As some of you know, me and a friend have made a couple of trips from here(Colorado springs) to the easy coast with some rust free parts. We've decided to keep going with it as long as there's a demand and money to be made. We've made these runs with whatever we had that ran. A 99 7.3 stroker van, 95 k3500 6.5TD. And a trip this coming oct 2nd with a friends dmax. We came across this truck when removing one of the 12 truck bed we'll be hauling back this trip. As stated above 76 CCLB C30, 454, th400 with a US GEAR overdrive. Truck is in surprisingly good condition. Very complete, and appears to have been well maintained. Interior is virtually flawless with the exception of a couple small cracks on the dash pad. Exterior has a couple small rust spots on the fenders and bed. Must have been sitting for a little while as the dual batteries were dead. With a jump and a splash of gas down the qjet, it was a purring away. Aside from the stale gas, it actually drove pretty good! Small gas leak at the fuel tank switching valve. 90% 10 ply Michelin tires in excellent shape.

So the plan.....
Fix minor issues (gas leak, new front fenders..)
flat bed body
Dual rear wheels
Airbag rear springs
Goose neck hitch
Tool box and transfer tank
6.5TD mechanical injection
Possible 4l80E w over drive unit.
Two tone Gm burnt orange / pearl white paint
Newer Gm bucket seats
Sound system
Lots of sound deadening!
HAUL LOTS OF PARTS!!

Ah man! I kinda wish i didnt read the build plan! I wanna see this thing done like tomorrow!

I want that 6.5 you have... For seats looking for anything newer.. Maybe power and heated :dunno: not sure if the valve itself is leaking or the rubber lines....

Very cool! So where do we put in our parts needed for your next trip?

How far east are you going? I need a tailgate and a gas door, and I am certain my friends can use some stuff too. When is the next run that you're taking requests?

I'm sure axles are easy enough to come by, but I have a cab and chassis 14 bolt dually axle if you need one. I would imagine you want the wider Dana 70 though.

Nice idea for a hauler! What happened to that first gen Cummins you had?

Any chance you could put my parts into one of those beds? I really want to start tearing into my truck soon...

Got your fender and a matching one to go with it if your interested. I'm still waiting in a good enough door. Hope to get one in the next few days. As for the nv4500 it appears it's no good. Would need a rebuild and a couple of shafts.. Still hunting for more of those. Still have the cummins! Driving it daily! It'll be used for the cross country stuff as well, but this CC will be better for multiple people making the trip.

Going to start a new thread in the hauling section. That way this one can stay on the build.

Got the truck back to the shop today! Found out it needed a drive shaft due to the tow truck bending it when it was dropped off at salvage. Brad 63chevyII came by to get the camper off of it. He was able to get ahold of a couple fork trucks to make the swap easy!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1351234497.364657.jpg
