Introductions & Greetings

Hello everybody. My name is Eric and I am from Washington. the greatest place for forest wheeling. I run an 85 k5 that is nearly stock. ATM.

New member from California

Hey guys and galls. My name is Eric, I'm located in Central California (Modesto/Sacramento Area)
I'm more into cars at the moment, but I have always had a spot for 4x4 trucks, especially Ramchargers and K5 blazers. My first truck back in 91 was a 84 Ramcharger with 35" BFG's, those where some good times. At the moment I don't own any 4x4's, just my Nitro trucks if that counts. I have been very tempted on buying a 89-91 K5, being out in Cali I would not mind a 73-75 smog exempt truck either. I could swap newer running gear at a later time. Ive been doing all types of research and using the search function like there is no tomorrow. But still have a few questions,

1. If you swap the axles over from a 1 ton do you still have the turning radius of the stockers?

2. Will a 4" and a 1" body lift clear 35" tires?

3. Where is one of the better place for parts to make a stroker 383?

4. What to look out for when buying a K5. I know you can't be to picky at $2-3K. (I know to look out for rust, not much here in the Valley though.

I work on my own cars, from the engine to the electronics, also a member of a few forums, and have made friends, and I will be glad to make new friends here too!

Hopefully soon I will have my own K5 to share pictures with you guys, instead of drooling over the ones I see here.

lovin this forum...bout to trade my ktm 400exc for a k5 and get started. owned 4x4 vehicles before, but treaded them like garage queens...this one is getting some "texas pinstripes" without pissing me off

is there a place I should post, if I want some input on the K5 i am currently looking at? will be my first chevy period, and my first old truck.

thanks, i just want to run the specs and cost by some of you experts.

You should be good to go for the garage & vendor forums. For sale and wanted will be reply only for you. You'll also need to have 15 posts before you can link pics (anti spam thing). Greater access to the site is member only but it's well worth it.

Hello everyone, my name is Terry, and i have a few K series trucks, but not K5 yet (still looking for a nice project K5). My DD is a 73 K20 with 350/350/205, 4" lift with 35's and 4:10 gears. I also have a 77 with a 454/400/203, 3" body lift and 33's and 4:10 gears that I picked up for a parts truck/ new project truck. I just purchased a 91 C20 for the fuel injection and trans and some other misc items for my new project.

The goals of the new project is to make a extended cab truck by using a long bed K20 and cutting the bed down and cutting the cab and extending it back to the bed. I haven't seen one done before, so I want to try and see what it looks like. Not to sure of the powerplant that I want to run in it yet.

I picked up a cab this past weekend and started to sandblast the paint and surface rust off of it. My next step is to find where will be the best placement for my cuts, so I can original body mounts or slightly modify them to work. I want to make it look like it was a factory option.

Thank for the great site!!! I have been reading a few of the great builds on this site and plan on adding a new one soon.

Posting for my son

Hey everyone,

Bought a 1985 M1009 CUCV for my son last weekend. He (ok, we) has really been enjoying it so far. It was slightly "civilianized" before we bought it. It went from the military to a Sheriff's Dept. were it got a white and black paint job. From there to a local fellow who added mag wheels and fog lights. That's about it so far.

Hello

I been on here for a bit but not active. I just got back on, I have an 87 K5 I'm trying to save but money issues got me. A lot of you on hear have some bad @$$ Blazers on here! Man!
I just got a question, do I have to become a memeber to put my blazer pic up? Thanks.

Hello, my name is Ruben from California. Unfortunately my truck is not a Chevy, but I use it to work side jobs & hope to get 1.

Hello from Ohio

Can't believe this is pretty much the one and only forum for the chevy blazer/ gmc jimmy. I look forward to milking all i can out of it seeing as how my Jimmy was put together out of boxes by a "would be engineer". Always wanted one of these monsters, now i just have to figure out what was done to it so i can get it to work.

Thanx in adavance for all the help you may provide and for putting up the millions of inevitable questions.

Steve
