Introductions & Greetings

Its a possibility, I am debating on either boxing the frame (especially now seeing how clean it is) or doing a frame swap with another 2500 4x4 frame. We'll see.

Hello

My name is Mike from central Alabama and wanted to say hello. This site is an amazing resource for info on the K5. Here is a pic of my rig.

My name is steve, and I'm addicted to k5 blazers! Haha!
I have always wanted a 72 k5 blazer, and I finally found one that was affordable. It is orange and has a soft top. The bottom of both doors are rusty but I've already found brand new replacement truck doors to cut the frames on. I'll be looking for a hard top soon too. The k5 had a locked up motor that I replaced with a cammed 327, 202 heads, aluminum intake and an edelbrock carb. My intention is to make it into a project for me and my 12 year old son to fix up for his first ride when he turns 16. I'm looking forward to the quality time with my son, but have to sell my last cj7 project first!

Hello,
Can I introduce myself this way? :0)
I'am Eric from the Netherlands, and I own a '81 K5 Blazer.
It has a 350 carburated engine with a th350 transmission. At the moment the previous owner has taken out the 4x4 trans together with the 4x4 transcase.
I plan to put an original 4x4 trans with transcase back in my Blazer. I already have bought these parts (Np203) together with the axles which go with it.
Kind regards,
Eric.

Been looking for a K5 for about 3 years , I found a 1974 K 5 for $1500.00 . I was so happy , very little rust , runs but needs work .
Can not wait to get started on it , she is rough and stock

My name is Steve I'm from central Oklahoma. I'm really glad to be a part of such an awesome site, I'm always learning something new on here such a wealth of advice and knowledge

New truck time. k10 305 4 speed. I have a dana60 front and a 14bolt that I will be putting on it.

Hey folks I'm new here but not new to the 4x4 world. I have recently bought a k5 its my first k5. So I figured I'd stop by here and see what works and what doesn't. I have already learned a bunch and hope to learn many many many more things.

Hey All...

My son has an 83 Chevy Scottsdale 4x4 with a 6" suspension lift and a 4" body lift running on SuperSwamper 37" stock 305 (DOA) with a turbo 350 trans. Ran fair for a year but just died. We are swapping the 305 for a crate motor ZZ4 350 (used) work in progress. All bearing plastiguage within specs. It has stock heads. Put new valve springs, inner and outers, keepers and retainers. Edelbrock proformer intake and a Holly 650 double pumper. Anyone have an idea of what cam I should run?

Welcome. There are a lot of engine gurus on this site. Post a thread in the garage section. You will get an answer.

Hey Mike. I had a 72 k5 used primarily for hunting. But traded for a jeep CJ2a when i was going way into the mountains of the Sierra Nevada's. I found with the blazer, a full tank and 3-5 gallon cherry cans got me as far as a full tank in the jeep... Loved mine to death, but necessity won out over my needs.

Greetings

Howdy,

I'm glad to finally join the forum after "lurking" for quite a while. One of my college friends, Samsterman99, bought his 86 k5 while we were at school. After seeing his rig develop into such an awesome driver/wheeler, I've decided I'd like to make the k5 platform be the foundation for my first rig. I am an electrician by trade, and while my 14 year old nissan gets me around town (155k miles on original everything sans routine maintenance) it's time to build a solid, reliable second vehicle that I can take up into the hills to go shooting/camping, or use to get to work at the Venetian if/when the nissan has an issue (rare but not unheard of.) so far I've found the site to be an incredibly friendly wealth of knowledge and look forward to contributing to its growth one day.
Thanks!
Dylan
