Intro, and need some help with kickpanels

Hi folks. I just found my dream car. 72 orange K5 Blazer. I found it in OR and now it's happily registered and titled in Georgia. It's just so awesome and fortunately I have a mechanic buddy who has it running perfectly.
Ok, i need some help. I am trying to put some Alpine Type R 6.5in speakers in the kickpanels. I need to buy enclosures to fit there. I'd rather not cut into the doors. Pls advise. Thx. Justin

Welcome to CK5!!!

You would be much better off asking this question in "the garage" as most people here don't follow the intro thread.

Hello all! My name is Adrian and I live in Denver, Colorado. I just bought my first Chevy which happens to be a 1979 K5 Blazer. She has a 350 with an automatic. I haven't been able to really get up close and personal with the truck so there is still tons of stuff i do not know about her, I look forward to learning lots of new things about these K5s on here and I also hope to get help from members of this site. Thank you guys for letting me be a part of CK5!

Check out the forums, find where you think you'll get the help you need and ask away. We all had questions once, hell we still do, don't worry about getting flamed here like you would on pirate4x4. This is a really cool forum and there are some damn good guys here.

Thanks man I appreciate it. I've been doing some searching and I've already found this site to be very useful. Don't doubt that if I have questions I will ask without hesitation. Thanks again!

FI 350, TH400 Reverse Manual Valvebody w/Art Carr shifter, 203 Lomax w/205 Doubler OffRoad Design, Dana 60 ARB w/Chromos Warn Drive Flanges, 14 Bolt FF Rear w/Detroit Locker and custom Ladder Bar setup, Frame is completely boxed, Aluminum Fuel Cell w external fuel walboro fuel pump, PSC Hydraulic Assist, Boat Sided, Warn 9.5 Thermometric, removable fenders front/rear, Complete roll cage, dash n gauges, 16.5 Trailready Beadlocks w/42 Irocks.

Do a lot of wheeling in Northern New Mexico.

Hello: Going to put a GenIV 5.3 in an 88 K5 Blazer.

Hi,

I've been reading posts on this forum for years now, but this is my official post. In short, I have a 1988 K5 Blazer that has got about 190k on the original 5.7 motor. Apart from not pulling trailers as well as it used to, the engine and transmission still runs very well. I got a local deal to upgrade, but the conversion is a bit extreme: I have a 5.3 LS from a 2008 Tahoe (with 4l60e transmission and all electronics) that I am going to swap in in the next few weeks.

I'v been doing a lot of research, watching videos, and reading articles on this procedure. There is a vast amount of information I've found on putting an LS in a muscle car or a 2WD truck, but I have found very little on LS swaps to k5 Blazers and 4WD trucks. Through this experience, I hope to successfully convert over my truck, post a lot of detailed information on the process, and make the project easier for other people. I'm looking forward to drawing on the expertise of others on this forum as well, so, that's about it, I guess.

Hello everyone!

Name is Dave and live in Alaska with my beautiful wife and two young children. Just got my 87' Jimmy last week after trading my 85' Iroc Camaro with my buddy.

Going to miss my Camaro but have always wanted a K5/Jimmy.

Truck is ye'ole standard 350 with 700r4, and typical quite lifter noise within first 30 seconds of firing up. Transmission and few other parts are from an old 87 Suburban that I owned many years ago with unknown millage. That is my only concern since it does have a nice instant bang when put into gear. The engine was rebuilt 50k miles ago.

Otherwise needs just a few odds and ends to be complete.

Cheers!

Hi from Jean

Hi everyone!

My name Jean,( I'm from France so not a girl name, :wink1: ) I live in Canada Toronto, area. Always loved big blazer, owned an 89 Bronco XLT but never got hooked to it.. Then got a chevy pick-up 1980 3/4 ton and built a "fall guy truck" replica, man...loved that thing, but sadly when moved to Canada had to sell it..
Now I with growing family looking to get a full size blazer still, wife hates it..( that's gonna be another challenge..)
happy to talk to you guys!
