Hi there

Hi,

I am from Dallas TX. I am new to 4x4s but not so new to working on cars. Previous vehicles were a 69 Chevelle and a 92 Camaro.

I rescued an 82 chevy k5 blazer w/ a lift kit and 32 inch tires. I do not know much about it, just that last guy hacked up a lot of wire and ghetto rigged the air filter so it would stay on the carb. All I know that its an old farm truck that was left to rot in a field and had not been running for years before my brother towed it back to apartment w/ his 92 K5 4x4.

We got the rebuilt transmission rebuilt by a local transmission in Monroe LA that installed a shift kit for 4x4s and I drove it back to dallas on bad brakes and leaking rare main.

Last month I got the breaks fixed and I got the vehicle inspected and registered. I finally got to take it out of my neighborhood and take it down to the fishing hole near my house and hit every mud puddle down the trail :D

The trucks is in real bad shape, it will mostly be a trail truck, but I will at least get the inside and the body rot fixed. I am hoping to do most of work.

Here are a few pics

Finally registered for this haha

I've looked at this site before, but never registered. Once I had the amazing realization that you didn't to pay for this part, I signed up. For a 17 year old, money is kinda tight these days. But I love the site and i'm glad that I can post, may upgrade later. I have a 73 K5, no major mods...yet. Maybe I'll take some pics and post them when I get a chance.

nice ride

loki85, Thanks for the E mail. You have a nice rig. I have not posted any pictures yet of mine. I will have to work on that. Sounds like you have a good start on a good off road truck. A lot of it is the driver, but a good rig will help too. Talk to you later 1980the beast:D

You have to be a paid member to have a signature. Nice truck, you aren't talking about putting a dana 60 in the rear are you? If so, I would definitly say thats a bad idea and you would be downgrading

1980thebeast...did i email you? i'm so scatter brained that it's not even funny, and muddermilitia, i'm keeping the 14 bolt for sure, i'm upgrading the front to a 1ton 60 bro...this HD 44 isn't bad, but i'm a fan of tons, so i'm upgrading... :D

so where's a good place to pick up a Factory Service Manual for the price of say...FREE ;)
