Hi,
I am from Dallas TX. I am new to 4x4s but not so new to working on cars. Previous vehicles were a 69 Chevelle and a 92 Camaro.
I rescued an 82 chevy k5 blazer w/ a lift kit and 32 inch tires. I do not know much about it, just that last guy hacked up a lot of wire and ghetto rigged the air filter so it would stay on the carb. All I know that its an old farm truck that was left to rot in a field and had not been running for years before my brother towed it back to apartment w/ his 92 K5 4x4.
We got the rebuilt transmission rebuilt by a local transmission in Monroe LA that installed a shift kit for 4x4s and I drove it back to dallas on bad brakes and leaking rare main.
Last month I got the breaks fixed and I got the vehicle inspected and registered. I finally got to take it out of my neighborhood and take it down to the fishing hole near my house and hit every mud puddle down the trail
The trucks is in real bad shape, it will mostly be a trail truck, but I will at least get the inside and the body rot fixed. I am hoping to do most of work.
Here are a few pics
