Introductions & Greetings

Hello, My name is Lawrence. Im from Yukon, Oklahoma but am stuck in Germany for the next few years. I don't currently have a 4wd at the moment. I had a 86 1/2t long bed 4wd all stock not too long ago, but had to sell before I came over here. I do have a 76 Chevy SWB 2wd, and its on its way over. I want to buy a 3/4 73-78 4wd long bed and have it waiting on me for when I do get back. Can't seem to find one, seems I'm too picky. Would like to find a manual trans, big block, that still has original paint and hasnt been hacked up yet, if anyone knows of any.

hey everyone!!! i'm allie ... 19 years old, born and raised in montana, good buddies with MTchevy (aka cole) ... then i moved to kansas for school ...

so, chevies have always been cool to me ... grew up with a 1985 chevy K20 suburban ... 4x4 with a 4spd ... between my dad and me, we drug that truck all over montana!!!

then, cole and i became friends after i graduated, and we hung out nearly every night working on either his chevy or on my 1990 4runner to get that into tip top shape to drive to kansas 1300 miles ...

then, i moved to kansas, was looking and looking and looking for a chevy ...

an unfortunate series of events (computer breaking, phone breaking, getting rearended by a lying s.o.b. and having a totaled 4runner out of it, and having my house nearly hit by a tornado), a friend of mine, originally from montana but moved to texas, made a deal with me ... i come to texas, pick up his '95 chevy, fix it up, and at the end of the summer, drive it to montana to give to his grandfather, and i'll get a 1978 chevy K10 shortbed with a fully rebuilt 350 (steel and moly everything, i don't know the half of it, i'm told) and a 4spd instead of the automatic, with a 205 transfer ... it's gonna be a badass truck ...

MTchevy always told me i needed to be a member of this group, but i felt odd if i didn't have a chevy, but now i do, so here i am!!!

anywho, hope to meet a lot of cool folks!!!

Don't get many girls around these parts. Welcome aboard and watch out or some of these guys...:D:) *cough*ThatK30guy*cough* :wink1:

haha, yeah ... MTchevy always makes fun of me ... "you don't know anything ... shut up ... you're a girl" ... haha ...

i grew up around trucks and cars as a kid ... from the earliest age, i must have just turned three ... my dad had this wretched old ford pickup from the Caterpillar dealer he worked at ... he'd bought it after it expired its life at CAT ... and i swear he was fixing stuff every weekend ... i'd drag a 5 gallon pail out ... with WD40 and a screwdriver and get up on the bucket and say "whatcha doin' dad?!?" ... he'd say what he was doing and i'd ask "well, what does that mean" ... the rest is pretty much history ...

yeah ... he pretty much is ... in fact, it was always him freaking out about getting dirty and not being able to take a shower when i wanted to go cruise or chill at the airport ... sissie ...

and he says "oww" a lot ... what's up with that??? mmm, i do recall, he says "i'm just getting tougher ... with every oww" ... he must have been pretty weak to begin with, haha ...

howd all comming llive from alaska i wheel a 78 short bed 52's up front and 63's in the rear

Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck. :D

I'M NEW TO THE SITE EVEN THOUGH FRIENDS HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT IT FOR YEARS. MY BLAZER WAS A 1973, ORDERED FROM THE FACTORY, WITH A SM465/NP205 . WHEN I MOVED FROM EAGLE, COLORADO TO SAN DIEGO THEY WANTED ME TO SMOG THE TRUCK, WHICH AT THAT TIME WOULD COST MORE THAN THE VEHICLE WAS WORTH. WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY MAKES ME WANT TO EAT MY OWN LIVER: I GAVE THE TRUCK TO A LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL FOR THEIR AUTO SHOP. BAD-BAD-MOVE.

I'M LOOKING FOR ANOTHER TRUCK AS I SPEAK YEAR GROUPS 1969-1975.

THE BIG QUESTION I'VE GOT IS: DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE ALL THE FIBERGLASS TOPS WENT TO AFTER GM STOPPED PRODUCTION OF THE FULL-TOP BLAZERS/JIMMY'S? I'M ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN THE 1972 SINGLE-WALL TOP:confused:

THANKS,
1973BLAZER

Especially, The 1972 Single-wall.

eBay, craigslist, in someone's backyard. Not much demand for them as most folks who go topless very much convert to the soft top. I've seen the '76 and up half tops go for free alot on here but the fulltops are a bit harder to find.

New with specification question

Whats up men. My name is Jason and I'm from the bay area of California. I've got a 1983 Diesel Suburban K10.

So, I recently blew my transfer case in the Hollister Hills and I have no idea what kind of transmission or even transfer case I have to replace it. I know it's all stock so if you guys have any information I would really appreciate it.

Again, it's a completely stock drivetrain, so in order to replace the transfer case, I was wondering what information and tips you guys have for me on removing and replacing the transfer case. Thanks in advance.

- Jason

Hey, welcome. I don't know if Burlington is near Iola WI, but there is a big swap meet there this weekend. I've occasionally found 73-87 chevy parts there
