Introductions & Greetings

Hey everyone, new guy here. Just recently sold my '77 Ford F150 and picked up a '91 Suburban. I've always heard of this place having awesome information and good people, now I finally have a legit reason to cruise on in. Anyways, my name's Blake, and I live in Minnesota.

welcome all there is alot of info and itswell worth the 25 bucks to be able to pics all the knowledge lol

What exactly does spending $25 do? I'm a high school student and strapped for cash at the moment but would love to get the most out of this site. I'm having some trouble right now finding info to help me figure out my rear window not going back up unless its at least 3" up. and I need to figure out how to change the bulbs in my instrument panel along with figuring out why my fuel gauge always says I have a full tank. Will I be able to find info to these questions and maybe a write up if I pay the $25?

There's a way better chance that you will find all the info you need than you won't. Lots of good info here. This site is the standard when it comes to information on our trucks. If there's not a write-up there's someone here who has done it.

Introducing Broken Silence

Hello everyone. My name is Michael and I live in Duncan, OK. I am originally from Windsor, MO and my in-laws actually live in Macon, MO. Not to far from you, "Mike_in_mo". I have wheeled since I could reach the pedals and I currently have a 74 Chevy 1/2ton pickup on 35's. Nothing special but I have a lot of fun in it. Check out some pictures here.

I am currently replacing the frame and cab. It used to be an old plow truck and rusted apart.

FNG here. I live in North Carolina. I am a big Ford Mustang fan. I am currently restomoding a 65. Anyway, I have been wanting to go out to an offroad park near the house and finaly went 2 weeks ago. I wheeled in my wifes H3 because I have a brand new F250 and did not want to go out in that.
Well I a have been bit by th offroad bug and since I need a truck that can seat my 2 kids when I go out.

What better choice than a Chevy K5. Of course I am currently in the market to purchase one but have narrowed it down to 2 potential candidates.

In the mean time I have found this awsome site that is full of info and is making me want a K5 already so I can start cutting into it and making it more capable.

new member

just bought my 1988 gmc jimmy tonight. extremely excited and just want to drive the tires off. 15 inch lift with 44s. cant wait to clean up and add my touch to it.

as far as the bulbs go pull the cluster out and the little black knobs are the lights which twist out. The fuel guage reading full all the time is one of 3 things. Gauge itself....short in wiring or bad ground....but more than likely its a bad sending unit. Mine does the same thing

hey, im Steven i live in Tallahassee Fl. i have a 77 k-5 that i bought from the second owner. The only thing that has been done to it is they put a 84-85 quad headlight front clip on it other than that its pretty stock bought it to restore.

Hello group.

Totally new to blazers here. This weekend, I traded a semi-wrecked 2001 Ford Focus for a 1991 full size Blazer. Talk about opposite ends of the spectrum! Truck has a 350, automatic, 4" lift, 33" tires. it also has it's share of problems, such as....

the windshield wipers only work when I hit the spray paddle, and they only turn off randomly.

the heat only blows out the floor vent, and not very warm at that, even after a 1/2 hr of running. temp gauge was reading 200-ish. this was VERY bad on the way home today since it was rain/snowing and the windshield kept freezing up except for the bottom 6 inches.

turn signal indicators don't blink on the dash. however, when i engage 4wd, the left turn indicator lights up. previous owner said he changed the instrument cluster, so maybe there's a crossed wire in there.

engine is running kinda rough. smells rich. i haven't attempted to tune it, but i should be able to handle that myself. i'm not too familiar with TBI, but i've had many V-8s in cars in the past. new alternator makes me think it's out of time.

also, the rockers are...well...kinda there. two replacements are included, not sure if i'm gonna tackle that job or not.

hope to find some good information here.

Vince
