i'm tony, and I just picked up a '85 K5 Blazer a few days ago. mostly stock with a mild lift and slightly oversized tires, but will be a good project foundation.

20862ls My Blazer

My name is Gabe and my Blazer and I reside in Nampa, Idaho. My current ride is a 1979 K-5 Blazer Cheyenne. Best 750 bucks I spent. Here is the rundown. Fully loaded with Air, cruise, power windows and locks. Has pretty much every option available. Oh, and it only has 86,000 miles on it:eek1:. Yes this is the original miles. Has a 400, TH 350, 203, 10 bolt up front and 12 in the rear, yuck! I now have a corp. 14 for the rear and 44hd for the front to put in it. At this time I am putting together a 436 for it. I drive my Blazer everwhere, she still drives like new. The person who had it befor me took very good care of it. They souped up the motor and tranny in the early 80's and then it was used very rarely.
Well thats about it for now. I will try to post some pics of soon, and will let everone know about what I am up to on the build of it. It will also get 6 inches of lift and 35's or 38's.

I am Parker a 42 year old who waited over 20 years to get my K-5, I have a 89 blazer with a 6" lift and 35" tires. It was a "crackhead" special a term used to say I got it off a person who "really" needed the money for $600, over the past 4 years it has been my project, it went from huge heap of mess to a functioning piece of mess.

I just had the engine replaced, installed diamond plate in the rear for a floor, and luked up and got a roll bar off one in a junk yard. Most of everything on my truck I got used. My theory is when you are through I will get it from you. Somebody always get tires of working on a project.

Well I am looking for stuff not to really make the truck off-raod worthy. Like do I need to change and beef up some of the stock stuff, everything is stock.

I am looking for accessories, as in" spare tires, winch, bumper jacks, etc, I want to be right when I hit the trail again.

Nice to meet you! It sounds like we both got the good deal. Mine was because the dealership closed and needed to sell asap. As far as parts and acc. I will check with someone and see what we have. Myself and my friend used to rebuild these years ago, and still have alot of parts left on the shelfs. He told me to come and get whats left, because he bought a 2004 Duramax and no longer has 73-91 chevs left to work on.:(

Hey all, new to the site. I just picked up a new to me 81 K2500 Chev with a 305 on propane, turbo400, np205, ff14bolt, dana 44 front. I am looking forward to all the useful information to be gathered from this site and its members.

Howdy from Texas!

New here. I have used info from the Tech Articles here for me and my son to build his 1st truck.

We took the body from a 66 SWB Fleet Chevy pickup and put it on a 77 K5 4x4 chassis.

I'm new, my name is Bill, I have a 91 full size blazer in great shape with only 50k miles on it. look forward to spending some time around here.

My name's Brian and I thought I'd do the old introduction thing. I've got a 1987 M1008 CUCV with 71,000 miles. It has the original J-code 6.2 diesel with an ATS turbo kit, ARP studs, and a Pete Jackson gear drive. It also has a turbo 400, a NP208, a Dana 60 front and a 14 bolt FF rear with a detroit locker, both with 4.56 gears. It's lifted around 7-8 inches and has a shackle flip in the rear, and has 39.5-15.5/16.5 Super Swamper TSL's on Eaton rims.

What's up?

Hey what's up every one? I'm a new forum member here and I dont exactly have a blazer but it's close! I've got a 99 2500 with a 454/80E etc., I really like the rig. I got it with 113k for 6500. It's done me justice for the year i've had it. Recently I replaced the battery, starter, and fuel pump..I also replaced all the things that are wrong with the cooling system like the heater bypass valve which is the worst piece of engineering ive ever seen and the lower heater bypass hose as well as the upper and lower radiator hose.

I'll admit I'm a total noob, but I love trucks and I'm in a position where I can spend a little of my extra money on them because I lvoe them so much so I can learn. So I'll be reading and posting along and doing what I can when I can to share my progress and get and apply as much advice as possible. Thanks for tolerating me.

Dan

Hayfork, huh? look up hayfork wheelin on youtube and you'll see a video I made. My truck's at the end. My friend, with the 2wd Toyota getting airborn, grew up in Hayfork.

Hello everyone I'm Dave from Vegas, I have been w/o a 4x4 for 5 years and will be picking up an 81 K5. I found this site while doing some research, I hope to start a build thread soon and I'm excited about having a 4x4 that is not my daily driver. Cut fenders, Big Tires, Rock sliders, Roll bar, etc etc is what I have planned, it's going to be a total budget build, I will be spending a lot of time here so figured I'd introduce myself.

hey, my name is Justin and I am from Mississippi. I currently have a 94 4runner and 81 Yota pickup mildly built on 35's, but am looking for a fullsize 4x4. I did have a 97 Z71 on 35's but at the time i was in school and gas wasnt my friend.

84 one ton

Hi everyone i am a new member and i'm liking it. I have a 1984 chevy pickup shout bed that i put a set of dana 60s in out of a military truck, with 456s, and detroit locker in the rear and a limited slip up front. The best up grade i've done to the truck by far. I recintly blew the 350 in it sent a few connecting rods therw the oil pan, not good. But i had a big block 396 in another truck of mine and just got threw putting it in, another great up grade. I'm going to need to get a truck avenger carb for it thow this edilbrock is killing me. It's got a 7in lift right now 4in suspinsion and 3in body, i'm not a big fan of the body lifts but moneys tite right now and i needed more body clearince so it will have to do for now. I'm looking at a set of boggers right now 38.5 but i haven't gotten them yet i think i might have to go up a little more to clear them so i was think about doing the shackle flip in the rear and maybe a 2in block in the front or 6ins springs i don't know yet, (any ideas)like i said moneys tite right now. i'm a framer and theres not to many people building new houses right now.
thats all for right now i'll get some pics on here soon so you guys can check out my rig and tell me what you guys think.
Thanks Rob
