Hello, I'm Rick, a past owner of 2 K5's a red 79 with a Warn winch, and an 82 black high rider... both long gone...

Currently, a 95 Black 9C1 Caprice, 96 Black K25 Silverado Ext short box, mild lift BFG Commercial T/A M/S which are fabulous in the snow.

Also restoring a '43 MB Willys that has been in my family since 1945, and a "68 flat fender Dodge Power Wagon orange with a pending flatbed.

Former GM Parts Manager, trying to get back in the business, was cut for newbie taking job for 50% less. Single father of three sons, all 3 in various stages of college.

Great site with lots of info.

Things are TOUGH in Michigan... 35 miles NW of Detroit.

hey guys--got referred here by a guy on fullsizechevy.com he said between these two sites, i will have unlimited knowledge at my disposal. or something like that. anyways, hi from mid-michigan. name is rob and i have a '87 scottsdale.

Hello all. My name is Cliff and I currently have a 94 K2500 with a Rancho 4" lift and 33's. It is pretty much stock otherwise. Since I tow with it, nothing else will probably be done to it. I also have an 84 suburban that has a 4" lift sitting in the shop waiting for me to have enough time off work to install it and the 33's sitting next to it. I should be able to take some time off next week and get the gears swapped out and install the lift. I'll post pics then of before and after. Oh yeah I live just south of Houston.

Hey all new around here, I'm normally a Jeep guy...have had quite a few wagoneers and XJ (Cherokee's) past and present, as well as a 97 TJ on 39.5" Iroks and Ford 60's. I purchased a 1990 V1500 from the son of the original owner who ordered it from the General, speced out, it has been meticulously maintained and documented including the build/order sheet, original GMC (Ihave a chevy) sales brochure ( I guess he had a change of heart) all the major service records/receipts from the past 337K It has had the tranny rebuilt once and is due again, it also has had a GM crate engine installed by a GM dealership in MO. Needless to say I got an excellent deal on it and gave it a bath and fogged (ants badly) the interior and now I am enjoying it immensly and will be posting pics. If any one needs any wiring help I have the FSM for the wiring in 1990 its a large wiring book.

Hey y'all, I thought I should introduce myself here. I know that I don't fit the normal vehicle crowd but, I hope that y'all won't beat me up too much for it. I drive a 1985 Dodge Ramcharger that is really close to being a lot like the Blazers I was hoping to learn some here on this site. Thanks in advance for your patience and help with any problems I may encounter.

LT.

hello

can anyone out there tell me what gears will fit in a dana 44 that came stock with 3.73 want to go as low as possible

Hi! My name is Nate Rollins. I build performance engines. Also do chassis work. Ive been in to 4wheeling and drag racing forever. i just now got me a 91 K-5 to fix up for riding. Ive already got a head start, but neding lots of parts. Im making bumpers and rocker guards as we speak. Its running 39.5 swamper tsl's on 15x12 TR beadlocks. Has dana 60(high cross over steering) 6" lift, locker and 5.13 gears.Rear is a 14 bolt locker and 5.13's also. Building a 700r4 with ultra bell and a stout 408 fuel injected. Will be fun and powerfull! Hope i can help with any questions as I will have plenty my self. Ill try to post pics asap. Thanks!

Thank you! I was gonna run the stock 4.56 in the axles ,but the optimum operating range or towing range of a sbc is around 1800-2800RPM. Big Blocks are about 200RPM less. With a 4.56 gear and 40's id be around the 2360RPM with a 350 turbo. Im wanting to run the 700R4/4L60E. So If I raise the gear to a 5.13. With a 700R4 (in overdrive) that will put my cruise RPM at 1810RPMs and at the best place for optimum performance. This is running 60MPH. The average speed around here. I do have the stock 4.56 dana 60 and 3.73 14 bolt if any body needs them.

I'm David and from Alabama....I just picked up a 88 Jimmy with 6" lift and 36's...12,000 lb. winch and cut out flares to replace my od Blazer...My 82 Blazer has well....RIP....I will be building this up and enjoying the heck out of it.....

So I have always liked the 80's style chevy. My parents had 2 that drove often between 15 and 18 yrs old. I have two kids and they have a "Chevy Girl" for a mom. I found a pretty decent 1991 1500 suburban with 118,000 miles, 4x4 and pretty much every option. Inside is very nice, underneath will need some work, probably a little repair and then a good undercoating to make it last another 10 yrs. I have already purchased a 1986 2wd with a blown motor but almost 0 rust for misc parts. I have lots of questions and am currently planning my attack of the light lift, body repairs, Suburbalanch (I already see one on here) and just general lets make sure it doesn't break down too bad on our first trip.

I look forward to reading others post, seeing modded pics and such.

Thanks

Ryan

Hello, about a month ago I purchased an 85 K5. It was in rough shape but it is perfect for what I want. Just a toy for playing in the mud and maybe a trail or two. (Not a fan of rocks...yet) Has a 6" susp lift and 3" body. Front 6" springs with 4" rear blocks and ORD 2" Shackles. Has a D44 front and a 14bff rear. It also has some sort of rough black paint job that's coming off for some Orange. (black wipes off with water haha)
