Introductions & Greetings

Got any pics of the 77? My dad has the exact same truck and I may be buying it from him next year. I'd like to lower it :D

Paulio in Utah

Hey all, I am loving the site! I have a daily driver 1984 Blaze with 6.2 running an ATS turbo. Runs great! Manual glow plugs, weak 700r4, 208, 10 bolt, cross steer, bald tires, rust.

I'll post up a pic as soon as I figure out how.

Planned mods include turning it into a stubby little truck, restoring the brakes and running gear to perfection, serpentine belt system for the engine, better water sep/fuel filter, nicer interior, maybe a paint job.

So I'll be checking out the posts for great ideas on the best setup. I was toying with the idea of finding a 5-speed allison, but I should probably just get a really well-built 700r4.

Me? I'm a daddy of a two-year-old girl, and stepdaddy to two teenage girls, which should partly explain the condition of my truck--no money for transmissions when there's diapers, lip gloss, and shoes to buy! I am in the middle of starting a tree removals and tree care business at the moment, and the blazer has pulled it's share of stumps.

Laters! Paulio

I'm in...

Hey Fellas, I've been here before but now I'm in. I'll post some pics of my 71 as soon as I'm able to
These next couple of days it will be going through a slight transformation that I've been wanting to do for some time now and I will post the before, during and after pics.

Looking for info on Bestop tigertop for '74

I bought a top from a garage sale, but it didn't have the horizontal or verticle door posts. Can somebody help me figure out how to build them? The instructions are less than descriptive and I'd like it to be as close as possible to the original. Maybe some pics and measurements would help.

Steve from Michigan

Hi my name is Steve and I am from Michigan and I own a 1986 Chevy 3/4 4X4. Just looking to gain information by joining the site. I also wanted to tell everyone about the Wireless TowLights that I purchased and how well they work..

hey fellas I just found this forum about a week ago and have been reading some of the threads.I currently have an '85 K5.So far i have put in a crate that I had one of my friends put together.sconed cylinders and a new 700r4 transmision but am probably going to go with a 3turbo when the timing and money are good,I have made room for bigger tires by moding the body a little bit but was wondering if there is a way to link the suspension or upgrade it without lifting my truck to the sky or tearing up my interior....any suggestions???

happier than a koon eatin **** off a wire brush!!!

ok, finally!!!! Ive posted about another blazer I was gonna pick up but the "owner" didnt have proper paperwork on that truck. Ive been talking back and forth with a guy in san diego and actually reached an agreement a few weeks ago about his truck. I was waiting on my 401k check to arrive and the guy was super cool about holdiong it for me!!! Its a 84 with about 6 inches of lift on 15 or 16 MT faux beadlocks. Motor needs a tune up and the steering is realy loose. other than that I drove it about 4 or 5 miles to a shell station and crawled underneath it. I banged the handle of my pocket knife on every piece of sheetmetal I could get to looking for rust, Found none!!!! The current owner made some homemade rockslider runnin boards. they suck but are kinda cool in the fact that he made them! it also comes with a small toolbox in the back of the truck. The owner cut a recess in the wheelwell to fit the toolbox and if you pull the toolbox out theres a gaping whole. Ill find a doner and patch that up. I picking it up tomarrow morning!!!! cant fuggin wait!!! Ill also upgrade my membership friday so I can see the rest of the forum. Im on the internet alot and moderate on another forum for one of my motorcycles. Is there anything I should look out for on the commute home??? I gotta drive it back 2 hours through some small mountain passes. Im near Palm Springs and Im bringing it back from San Diego.:D:D:D

just an update. I bought my 84 K5 yesterday and drove it home two hours from Carlsbad Ca. Still superstoked!!!! Im going to replace the water pump, thermostat, plugs n wires on sunday. Ill also have a look at all the brakes. It needs a little tlc but will be my everyday driver. Gonna have the gears changed to 4:56's. I believe there stock so the trans is really workin to keep the truck moving. Once its mechanicallysound Im gonna run a big as aluminum radiator with dual electric fans to keep it cool out here in the desert. Oh, its lifted 6 " and runs on 35 " tires with Mickey Thompson faux bead lock wheels. :pimp: And I gotta get the A/C workin too.
