Newbie saying hello.

Newbie here. Looking for burb ideas for my project. I am working on a 1989 2500 Suburban. 5.7 4 speed 4x4. Great rig so far. How do I post pics here?

Whats up everyone..my name is dave and i live in vista ca, i have a 1981 k5, it has a 6" rancho lift and 33's (soon to be replaced by 4-link and 35's) the motor is a 383 stroker and it has an ISKY R.V. cam, a steel crank, 650 four barrel, an Edelbrock high rise intake and high compression heads...the tranny is a freshly rebuilt (by Waltbuilt) turbo 350, the axles are 10 bolt front and 12 bolt rear (stock gears) and thats about it...i want to find a decent pre-bent cage to weld in and get some gears and lockers and maybe a safari top (depending on whats the "reviews" are on them.)

Noob to the forum

Hello all,
Rodney from Wasilla, Alaska here.
Been a GM fan all my life (near as I can tell anyhow). I have owned a few K5's in the past but my current project is a 87 3/4 ton 4x4 suburban.

Looking for some good ideas, possibly info on doing a blazer top.

Greetings All -

Name's Tom, and I'm from Central Wisconsin. I've dabbled in IH Scouts (3), Jeeps (4), Early Broncos (2), and currently own a 94 4x4 Toyota shortbox p/u, and a recently aquired '75 Blazer (UPS stands for Ugly Piece O' S**t - Wife's idea). The Blazer has a NP205 with the original SM465, and a 350 of more recent vintage. Someone put a 4" all-spring (no blocks) lift on it, and it sports a set of weather-cracked 35" mud kings.

First thing I did was to remove the top (anyone need one???), and the doors - Which were pretty well shot. Plans are to reinforce the door area, possibly filling the opening about halfway up with 1/8" steel, with some 1/4" angle iron welded on/in for support/stiffness. The front floors are pretty solid, with only a couple rough spots (holes). The rear floor area has been addressed by a previous owner (you don't want to know...)

The thing runs great, and will be an off-road only hunting beater. I've got about a hundred acres of woods, swamp, and fields to roam, and I'm only into it for about 600 bucks at this point.

I've already gotten a couple good ideas from roaming this site!

Thanks,

Tom

Hello All,
My name is James and I am fairly new to CK5...I have been all over the site just haven't had time to interact. I live in the Philadelphia area in PA (West Chester) and I have been customizing my 79 K5 for a little over a year.
I have 1 ton axles, 383 stroker create motor, P205 transfer case and a Th350 trans with a b&m shift kit. Also have a 6 inch lift and fabbed some bumpers and soon a swing out tire carrier and a custom gauge cluster.
I would love to hear any input for tire carrier/ gauge cluster that anyone has run in to in the past.
Thanks and I hope to hear from you all!
James

My name is Buzzz, I have a 75' Blazer with a small block, 4 speed and 205. Dana 44 and 12 bolt.
Just finishing up a 412 cubic inch small block and getting ready to completely re-do the old boy. It has 468,000 on it, and getting ready for another 200,000 with this build.
Here is what he looked like a few years back;
(Woops, can't post a pic just yet. Need more posts.)
I have been lost in the drag racing world for quite a while. I am trying to catch up on all the new companies, the new parts, etc. in the offroad world before I buy the wrong stuff to build my truck.

Ehy that sounds like a neat truck, btw, nobody makes 5.89's for a 14 bolt.

HELLO CK5!!! My name is Matt and I am happy to be here... boy that sounds corny!

I live in NW Iowa(don't hold that against me) and have Loved wrenching and wheeling my whole life.

I recently got my newest creation roadworthy... It's a '76 K5 with a 350/700/208 combo turning a 10.5" 14bolt rear with a Detroit Locker and up front is a HD DANA44(open unfortunatly) and 4.10s in both. The body has a little midwest cancer, oh well.

I look forward to some great info from all of You, and Hopefully I can give some also.

I also have some GOOD 1/2T axles and 1/2T Suburban parts I need to get rid of...
