Introductions & Greetings

I currently run a crossover, highsteer with hydraulic assist. Awsome with 42's in the rocks.
You might be able to run a sector shaft from a 2 wheel drive saginaw box, and use a drop pitman arm, clocked in at 90 degrees. The amount of drop required can be accomodated by the drop arm.

Hey everyone. I have to say that this is a great forum. I have a 1990 k5 that I am trying to rebuild. I live in Florida so mainly it is going to go through water, sand and mud. Right now I have sbc 350, th400, and a np205. I have the stock axles but plan to upgrade when I get the money to do so.

Hi everyone! Kevin here from Des Moines, Washington. I have an 86 Burb with 6" lift and 35s. Currently a 1/2 ton but have a 14bolt and 44 in the garage. Also a new engine in the works!

'78 Jimmy

Hey,

I'm stepping out from my normal Jeep Cherokee rockcrawl hobby on this last project. I bought a rusty '78 Jimmy, and I'm in the process of swapping out the body with an '89. Otherwise, I've installed an 8" lift with 40's on it, and have the shackle flip yet to install for an additional 2.5" lift. I plan on running 14.5x20 Michelin XL's and so far, it's been a blast. Take care!

Greetings from Milwaukee, I'm Stew. I'm in Milwaukee, WI. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and am currently serving in the Army Reserves. In the past I've had a '79 Dodge Power Wagon (1/2 ton, 360/727/203, short box, 31's,) and a 1988 F150 (4x4, 351W C6, short box, dual shocks, sway bars, stupid fast and obnoxious loud.) I grew up in an '87 Suburban. Spent a lot of time in that truck as a kid and drove it a lot the first few years I had a license. I recently sold my 2000 2wd, 4cyl auto S10 for more house buyin' money, and got into this dirt cheap. It's gonna suck feeding it, but it's awesome to have a daily that falls into the "toy" category. It feels soooo good to be rolling around in an old school truck again. This truck is an '86 3/4 ton, 350, auto, headers, Eddy intake and truck avenger 550 (I think,) and junky homemade duals. No big plans for it (yet) other than proper dual exhaust and working out the bugs that have developed while it sat for the last 6 years.

Other toys include a 1990 Mustang and a 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100. I plan on using the truck for basic daily driving, usual pick up truck duties and light trails and mudding.

Hi all, name is Jim and I'm new to the site here. Been looking to get rid of my Toyota and go with some big and bulky American steel. I'm intersted in the 73-91 style K5 Blazers but have nooo idea what to look for in the way of motor/tranny/axle combos (had toyota's most my off road life). The truck would be my DD so nothing to extreme, is the 305 motor any good? What transfer case should I look for. Basically HELP!!! Thanks in advance and can't wait to get one and dive in head and wallet first!

Jim

Hey All,

I'm new to the forum but not to chevy's. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys are building and catch up on the older builds to. Here's my current project:

It is and 84 K10 body sitting on a 73 frame, which has been shortened 20" with a350, SM465, Twin Sticked 205, D60 w/ x over, welded 14 bolt, 4" lift, 114"wb, 39.5 tsls, tube bed, narrowed front clip and an exo in the near future...

It should be trail worthy in the next few weeks...

Whats up. My names Trey. Im a ford guy, but I cant stay away from the square body. I just picked up a 88 suburban 4x4 with 97k.

I am here in Idaho with a 86 and 88 burb. The 88 has been parked for awhile, needs the engine rebuilt. The 86 is the driver.

I'm a recent Ford convert, blew up my Ford and I'm sick of em. I'm finally taking my friends and father's advice and got a Chevy instead. Don't look like much, but the engine and tranny are in fine shape, and for $1000 it couldn't be beat. Thanks for having me! edit: whoops guess it won't let me post my truck pics til I spam it up in here a few times. I'll try again later :V

welcome

ive always been a chevy/gmc guy myself... had a ford had a dodge yes i know we all make mistakes haa haa.... :haha:.... but live and learn. chevy gmc thats the way to go.. who cares about the return when you go to sell what i care about is will it get me there and back and will i enjoy the ride on the way there... thats my thoughts over it.. i still have the original v-8 off of my first car.. haa haa it runs awesome still haa haa.. but welcome and have fun... enjoy

Whats happenin guys? Names stoph. I have an 83 k5 jimmy with a 305, np205, stock 10 bolts front and rear. pretty much stock I just bought my new queen and the guy I bought it from had 2 completely different sized tires from front to back. The truck bucks real bad and is leaking trans fluid. hubs are unlocked and shes in 2wheel but feels like its in 4 wheel My thought is the transfer case is thrashed or maybe the hubs but I wanted to get some other opinions from some of you fellas who are more familiar with em. I was a tech for a few years and been workin on cars and trucks my whole life so i know my way around and dont mind gettin dirty but never got in too deep on the aspects of trans and transfer case stuff. anything yall can offer will be greatly apreciated

I have had my Fords that I hated. 94-95 mustang gt or cobras, and a 01 GT. All were POS. I have had many many F150's and Mustangs all 87-93 mustangs. I currently have a 93 Lightning with lots of mods, and a 04 4 door 5.4 which I have ran the wheels off. Im pushing 160k, and it still runs like a new one. Im letting my wife drive it, since her car is wrecked. I bought this suburban to haul my son around, and tow my lightning to the track. Im just having some issues with it.
