Introductions & Greetings

Hello

Hello,
I just bought my first Jimmy its a1991 4x4 bone stock.
350 700r auto hubs 104,000 miles good shape for a Mi truck.
I am not new to 4x4 I recently sold my Rock buggy to a guy in Colorado Springs. And wanted something more streetable and do not like jeeps. So a K5 seemed to be a simple solution to a 4 seat quick and dirty rig.

Parts I was collecting.
  1. front 60
  2. rear 60
  3. 6.17s
  4. 39.5 x17 TSLs
  5. H2s for now
I come to this sight looking for the tried and true setup .Im not going to link this yet.I just want to get her rolling.
Is there any good build following a low or zero lift running 39s that I could start at?

Thanks Jeff

Hi all. I am in Northern California and looking for another rig. My last one was a 72 Jimmy and I loved it. I would like to find a clean 75 or earlier with A/C. Glad to be a new member here.

Hi everyone. I am a newbie to the site from Western Colorado. I have a 1971 K5 that is getting ready to go under the knife:hack:. I have read alot of articles from this site in the past and am really looking forward to using some of the knowledge here in my upcoming K5 adventure.

Thanks

My name is Steve and I live in Buellton Ca and Im looking for advice for souping up my truck! I have always loved old chevy trucks, blazers and suburbans. I currently have a 73 camper special 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 350/350, 205 transfer case, D44 front, 14 bolt rear. Im just looking for advice on things i can do to my truck to make it an off road machine! I look forward to exploring the site and meeting people and giving as much advice as i can in return! thank you, Steve

hi all, my name is Mohsin. I'm from Saudi Arabia, and live there too. I just purchased a 1991 Chevrolet K5 and it's my first 4x4 car.

at the mean time it's stock, and the plan is to almost keep it that way and do some restoration job. the only mods I'm thinking at are putting some lockers to the front and rear, 33-12.5-15 sand tires, 3" suspension lift, Magnaflow muffler with dual outlets, and a set of headers.

cheers.

Well, New here, and trying to figure out the rules.

In any case, my rig is a mostly stock 89 Burb. Will probably not mod it too much, as it is my DD, and I have several other toys/projects, the one which receives most of my time and attention is a 67 M715, with a Cummins4BT/Allison powertrain.

Just joined to answer questions from time to time, and see what help I can offer, and to ask the occasional question. Mostly just like reading about, and viewing pics of what people build. Been known to steal a good idea from time to time, and have actually came up with a few of my own over the years.

Hi

Hi, my name is Brett. I live in Seattle and just bought a 76 k10 stepside, its completely stock and full of rust. It has a 350/TH350 that is running a little rough. This will be my wheeling vehicle but still has to stay street legal enough to get me to the trail.

Hey, y'all. Name's J.B., I'm in Fort Hood, Texas. Got a 76 C10 that's got just enough body rot to make it a candidate for cutting on. So far, I've sold the stepside bed and bumpers (don't need them, and I'd rather sell them to someone that can/will use them, rather than beating the crap out of them in the rocks). Right now, she's not running, I have to find an intake manifold and figure out the fueling issue that the PO told me about.

So far, my only major mods are ditching the ate-up 31/10.5/15 Buckshots that were on it when I bought it for a set of BFG A/T's that are just rollers. As stated previously, she's bedless right now until I can lay the diamond plate down (need crossbars) and bumperless.

Future plans.....there's a laundry list.

Immediate:

-Boatsides
-Cut front fenders
-37" MT/R's
-Internal rollcage
-fuel cell/Blazer gas tank (the square one)

Upcoming: (*read: after I deploy*)

-Full exo cage
-Four link
-Racing seats
-D60 front/14FF rear
-lockers
-winch
-narrow the front
-propane set-up
-bright orange paint

There's more, of course, but as of now, I can't think. Glad to be here, even though I'm not in a K5.

Hello!

Hi, everyone. I just got my Blazer on the road, and I have work to do to "finish" it.

The rug was already ripped out when I bought it, due to the multiple holes in the rear and front pans. Rockers look weak, too.

Mechanically, good, but there are some minor electrical gremlins that I've got to solve.

I'll upgrade the truck as I go, but no hurry. I'd like to be able to drive it regularly.

Thanks...and thanks for having me!

The new guy

My name is Bobby. Im 25 and I own an 88 K5. 16 inch lift on 44s. I have strengthened up the motor and put in 533 gears with locker. I made my own light bar with 4 off road lights. I am currently looking for a good winch bumper so I can mount my industrial 9000 lb winch on the front.

Welcome to all.

Do a search in the vendor forum for bumpers. There are several...Blazenoffroad, DIY4X to name a few.

Hey guys im Josh.. 25 yr old guy from DFW, tx. Picked up a 79 k5 couple months ago as a play truck so i can keep my 09 GMC stock... nothing too special bout the truck yet. its got a stock 350 with all stock drivetrain. Pulled off all the trim off the ouside, carpet from the interior, and the crappy bolt in roll cage that was in it when i bought it. Also, i pulled the trim out of the bed so its a normal truck bed since this thing is only gonna be for mudding and hunting. Just picked up a new set of dick cepek 35.12.5x15 crushers as well. Now all i need is a front driveshaft and i will be in business... Like the forum since it is K5 specific. Hopefully i can get some questions answered and find some parts ive been needing.
