Introductions & Greetings

I run Rock Solid Offroad Club out of Florence, Colorado. I wanted to share with everyone about our raffle build with the Colorado Association Of 4WD Clubs but I have to have 5 posts before I can add any links so this will make #1.

Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck. :D
Well lets see my name is Cliff I live in Conroe,Tx.I am 63yrs young own a 81k30 1-ton. Not real good with this puter so I could very well be typing this in the wrong place.Anyway,I was surfing around looking for crossover/highsteer for my front D-60 when I come across CK5 this site looks like I could have some fun and find some stuff at the same time. Hey whats up guys? Alright I hate to admit it, but I'm new to the Chevy scene. I live in Powell, WY and work in Cody as a Ford technician. I've been wheeling for about 6 years in a couple of different rigs. I've checked the site out before when I was a member of FSB.com. I've got an 86 Burb with a new 350, GM 10 bolt front and rear, and I don't have a clue what trans or t-case I have, can't read the tags anymore same with the axle tags. It was completely stock up until a week ago when we brought it into the shop to take the running boards off, and a few beers later :D it had a 4" Procomp lift. Now just looking for a good set of 35x12.5R15 AT's or MT's. I know I'm going to have to do some trimming. I've read the finder trimming tips page, but was wondering if anyone has some better pics of what they have done so I have more of an idea of what I need to do.

Cost me about $200 for a complete rebuild and opening the CV? joint up. It was still binding after a 4" lift and a 1" xfer case drop. Cheaper if you take the shaft off and take/send it to them. Check out the web site and call them for a quote. Located in Ft. Worth, TX.

Hello my name is Gilbert. I work at an automotive shop in Orange, CA. We have a 72 Chevy K5 Blazer with a 350. Somebody stripped most of wiring from it. I was hoping I would be able to find some help here. We have Mitchell OnDemand 5 and AllData but they both have no wiring information on them. I have been on google looking for diagrams but no luck so far and found you guys. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

just checkin in

Hi im new here, I'm 17 and I'm from idaho I have a 88 chevy half ton Suburban its mostly stock right now except for the leaf springs,CB and home made mudflaps (that turned out awesome btw) it has a 700R4/NP208 and a 350 TBI (don't know the axle gear ratios yet but would like to find out)
I want to turn my Burb into a nice trail rig for hunting and 4x4ing on logging roads and fire trails and would appreaciat any advice you have. My next project is going to be swapping the 700R4 for a SM465 for the simple reason I HATE auto trannys :P (no offense auto lovers) and I will need lots of help on that :)

Thanks!

Hi, I just got a 91 Blazer 350 TBI with an 8in lift and 38in Swampers. I tried posting in other places but I get an error message. Anyways my lift is all leafs and the drag link ball joints are shot. Is there a better option than just replacing them, no I won't do hydro assist. Thanks.

Also part numbers from Autozone, Advance, etc would be appreciated.

Hello, I'm Jason and I live in River Ridge, LA (suburb of New Orleans). I'm trying to find an 69-72 Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy. I've been all over the internet trying to find one that needs some work but isn't rusted out like alot of them. Anyway if you come across one, let me know.

There's one listed on Craigslist in MS. I think it is near Greenville or Yazoo City. That's about 4-5 hrs. north of you.:wink1:

Hello all, I don't have a K5, but I do have a pretty clean K30. I have been trying to make up my mind to keep it or sale it to buy one of my other favorite wheeling rigs, a 2nd gen Yota. Please don't hold it against me because I am a Toyota fan. I have always owned a drove Chevys with exception of my 1984 Extra Cab Toyota and a 1989 Suzuki Samurai.

Specs:
454
TH400
4:56 Gears with a Detroit locker in the rear
5 38.5 X 14.50 X 16 TrXus MT
8 inches of lift
Warn 8274-50

The truck is a CUCV that had the Oil burner swapped out for a BBC.
