Newbie Looking for 1973 Blazer or Jimmy

Hello,

I am a newbie and found your forum while franticly looking for 1973 or 74 K5 Blazer or GMC Jimmy.

I am not having any luck...I have found a few on Craigs list but nobody ever answers or calls back.

If anyone knows where I might get one please point me in the direction.

My ideal one would be a 1973 two-tone Gold/white K5 as close to factory as possible.

Thanks!

Hey i have been lurking around for a few years on and off. I live by a small town in Minnesota called White Rock. I own a 1986 k-10 or thats how it started i have owned it for 10 years now and am still changing it all the time. As you can tell i am a mud guy but i also have a 1993 Blazer i just retired from my dd so i may turn it in to a trail rig. It is almost stock except for the 33" tsl and some fender trimming. but i have a dana 60 from a ford i may put under it and some 38" mickey t's baja claws.
You guys have a good site and a lot of good info on here. Thanks

Stopping in to say hello

I just decided to build a mudder/toy and found this site while looking for good information on the different ways to go. It looks like there is some really good information on here. I live in Eastern Oregon and there a few nice places to mud and climb.

Anyway, I am buying a 1989 V10 today as my project. I like the front grill style and it is a great price. $850.00, it runs, everything works, power all, and very little rust. Hopefully it works out. I am kinda nervous about starting the project. I have rebuilt a 350 before and it is still running four years later so that isn't what bothers me. It is the taking the truck down to almost nothing and cleaning, fixing, rebuilding, or replacing everything. Never done this before. I imagine it will go okay but hey, that is why there are forums like this one. I don't care about keeping it stock. I want a nice looking, fun mudder/moderate climber. I may turn the 350 into a stroker for the fun of it. Who knows.

Well, hello and see you all around the site.

Gunny

Hello all I'm Anthony from California. I just bought my first blazer. I love it and hope to have it for many years. It is an 1989 silverado blazer. 6" lift, 35's and some other goodies. I am pretty new to the whole off road thing, and have learned alot just reading these forums. Thanks.

revisit

been off here for a while --still enjoying 4 wheeling --enjoy wathing new builds here on the net --also hoping tellico might survive --always hope --lot of good memories there !!

Hi everyone.
Great site!
I live in sunny, southern Arizona, so the 4x4ing locally is awesome.
I just sold my old 4x4 and I'm looking to get a Blazer with a 6.2 Diesel. This might involve getting an older style Blazer with the full removable top and converting it to the 6.2
I'm looking for mileage and dependability. I also want to burn used restaurant oil as it is plentiful and inexpensive.
Looking forward to the future.
Cheers

Howdy. I've been a lurker for a while..Lots of great info here!
Bought a bone stock, rust free '83 K5 Silverado diesel about 2 years ago..
So far I've added lots of scratches and dents, a 4" lift, a banks turbo, and 36" TSL's. I swapped out the 700R4/NP208 for an SM465 and twin-sticked 205. Most recently I swapped out the axles for an 8 lug 10 bolt / 14 bolt FF with 4.10's.
Next up is to complete the de-carpeting that began with the tranny swap and Hurculiner the interior, a Detroit out back, new shocks and bushings, and sometime a Dana 60 and Ox locker..

This has helped me in the past locate boats, bikes and trucks!

future k5 owner

Im joining this forum because I hope to be a future owner. Quick tid bit: I have a 88 Suburban dually with three row seating, 454 engine fuel injected. newer tires, battery and starter. Truck is great runs and drives fine. I owned a shop and closed it last year. This truck was used to haul a 20' trailer with cars and trucks. Now that its closed I need something smaller. Ive been looking all over the normal places like ebay and CL so I hope to trade it for a k5 very soon. I need something smaller because all I do is pull a 20' bayliner boat with it now. Its a waste of a truck for hauling something so small. Id prefer something I can remove the top and a 350 engine clearly is better on gas.

Well thats about it.

Im Mike from Nevada. Just purchased a 1984 Suburban 4x4 diesel 3/4 ton. She has a real nice body and the engine runs smooth (for a Diesel). Looking forward to posting my build up of her. Shje arrives mid week so I will come back and post a pick.

hello my new fello freinds ahha

My name is Jose, i live in Anaheim california. i own a 84 blazer with a 350ci and a 700 transmisson. i just got it and i was wondering if anyone could recomend any camshaft to get more power of of the 350?

OK. t I was looking for an RV hauler and ended up scoring a '78 K35 for just $3500.

4x4, Fresh rubber, chrome rims, 4 spd manual, dana 60's front and rear, very little rust, dual tanks, no dings to speak of AND filled to overflowing with an '03 8.1 Vortec. Needless to say, I was buying this truck before I finished pulling into the parking lot.

Yes, I am gloating!

I'm sure I'll need lot's of help later, but today, I'm gloating and enjoying the pure thrill of being hammered into the seat as I hit the gas, pop the clutch and make those tires cry and twin pipes roar. (until I get the fuel bill)

Ciao!

Man, that's sweet!!! :saweet: Got any more pics? I'd love to see some action shots. Are you on any local area boards?

New as New can be...

SteepleJack...from Central Florida here.

I will be getting a 1985 Blazer on trade in a week or so, all original with 108k miles, almost a one owner vehicle. The father bought it new, then gave it to his adult son who has had for the last 15 years.

I have never had one but always wanted one...I won't get to radical with it but will make it a nice daily driver. I plan to replace my current '02 Dodge Ram with the Blazer.

I know very little about the specs of the K5s but plan to learn the important stuff from here!

thanks, I haven't spent much time on any local boards occasionally I look at http://www.florida4x4.com or http://chuckstrucks.iforumer.com/index.php?mforum=chuckstrucks. What other local boards are out there?

here is a couple minute video of the build instead of having to create a build thread. You'll see it started life as a simple Samurai and has slowly gone through a lot of versions of motors, axles, etc.

here are a few videos of my first test run (only 3 1/2 years, lol). My clutch bearing exploded the first run, so ignore the squealing noise. Keep in mind, NW is flat, so not a lot to wheel here in town. I have a few more bugs to work out before it is ready to go out for a run.
