Another guy from NorCal

Hey Guys/Girls,

I have beeen checkin out the site for a while now and just subscribed today. Lots of cool info here. Wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I have a bone stock 89 K5, with BFG/AT tires on it,and thats about it, I dont think the bone stock part will last to long though! Everything on my K5 works great, except some vibration that hits at 65 MPH.
First on the list is paint, then some powertrain work including bigger axles and new flexable goods. I am sure that the list will get more extensive later.

looking forward to chattin with you all,

Gary

Nother noob here! I've been a K5 owner for exactly 2 weeks! Picked up a 88 bone stock, near mint silverado loaded for $4500. I just put new upper/lower ball joints in it and will be daily drivin it. No garage queen here! Pics soon to come. Look forward to becoming a member soon.:thumb:

Hi,

I'm Clay Carley, from Rohnert Park, CA. This year, I bought my first GM product, a 1989 Chevy Suburban. I really was a Ford or Jeep guy, but there is something about the '89 to '91 Suburbans & Blazers that I like: classic body style, and fuel injection! So far, the drivetrain is stock, TBI 350, 10 bolt axles front & rear, TH700R4, and NP (I forget right now) T'case. Looks to have 3.73 gearing, and a gov-loc in the rear, with 35X12.5 BFG A/T's. Lift is from Pro-Comp, 4 inch Explorer springs front & rear. Rears are 56 inchers... Shocks from Bilstein, 5100's all around, which provide a very nice ride on & off road.

Myself, I work for Sonic.net in Santa Rosa, CA, where I "build the internet", I literally go all over the bay area, installing equipment, hooking up fiber optics, to make the internet work :)

Hey everybody, My names Matt and I need some good connections for parts, mods, and stuff on my 72 Blazer. I'm sure you will be able to tell very soon that I've never been on a forum before. Please bear with my computer skills, I appologize in advance. This is my first K5 and I'm really excited to get it where I want it. I've always been a car guy, starting with a 65 malibu and a few El caminos, and a few Buick GS's. I've built a few bikes as well. Anyways, thanks for this great site!

88 Blazer in New Orleans

I am getting ready to part out my 88, am a friend informed me about this site. Not to familiar with these forums. Figured it would be a good place to advertise the parts. Truck is in great condition and 80% restored interior except for a seized motor which has been removed.

Looking forward to talking with you guys.

Jon

new to CK5

i recently purchased a 89 K5 with 119K original miles from a state surplus sale. after changing all the fluids and changing out the leaking water pump my Blazer is ready to hit the road. currently it sits on mismatched 31x10.50 cooper discovery tires that i hope in the near future will be upgraded to a 35" mud tire along with a 6-8 lift. i know i can go bigger with a 6-8" lift but its gonna be mainly a daily driver and im wanting to keep MPG as high as possible and tire cost within a working mans budget.

Noob from Dallas, TX

Hello! My name is Brent, and I own an 85 K5 Blazer that has been parked out in the pasture for 3 or 4 years now. I'm getting the itch to dig it out of the weeds and get it trail-worthy to go wheeling again. I'm looking to get connected with some folks with similar interests in my area.

I'll try and get some photos of the Blazer this weekend and perhaps start a project thread once it gets under way. I look forward to meeting you folks!

Hey guys, I found this forum through google after looking up various information about EFI systems. I've been reading a lot from thirdgen but since I have a c1500 I figured this site might have some other helpful information as well :D

New Guy

Just found this while I was looking for info on how to adjust my speedo for bigger tires. My son and I have decided to redo my 91 fullsize Blazer. We started with a 3" lift and 35/12.5-15 Cooper STT tires. Next year paint its a slow project and my daily driver . My second blazer we love it. Wondering if anyone knows how to recalibrate a speedo after larger tires I understand its just a gear in the transfer but figuring wich one is the fun part. Thanks for the help
