Newb to the site, on the way to colorado via tennessee

New here and not to the trucks. Started a new project and may need a little help along the way so I went ahead and joined up. Lot's of 4x4's at my place and always keep a cucv and 1009 around for towing. Currently working on a 84 GMC jimmy with 6" lift, 35's. Getting it ready to go to my farm in colorado. Any members in the Alamosa, Ft. garland area? Hope to be living on my farm there full time in the next couple years. Thanks Colelkhunter

Hi, I'm VJ and have an old '72 K5 that I went all out with (new motor, new paint, all rust out) about 6 years ago, but just didn't finish. If there's anyone in the Bay Area with a little bit of free time on their hands / needs some extra cash, I'd love to get some help piecing this thing back together - just needs a little more TLC. I'm located near Santa Cruz, California.

Hello everyone!Im from ND and am new on the site. While im not a chevy guy Im always looking to expand my wheeling/chassis building knowledge. Im looking to switch over to chevy flat top knuckles (want high steer) and chevy HD dana 44 hubs, spindles, etc. Im always looking for new ideas. Im currently working on my 79 bronco, over the last few years I repowered it with a 466. Im running ported and polished heads, a comp 262 extreme energy cam, around 10.5:1, a weiand stealth intake, 750 dp speed demon carb and a mallory dizzy. It came with an auto that got toasted and had to go. its now running a NP435. I added in a factory limited slip in the front and a Detroit locker in the rear. I run it as my daily driver in the winter and my mudder in the summer.

Hi, my name is Adam and I am hoping to get a K5 very soon, as soon as i sell my 05' Nissan Pathfinder 0ff road model.

I live in central Oklahoma and i work for a metal building manufacturer.

I love guns, guitars, and girls (my wife).

I play in a Progressive metal band called Circumstance out of Moore OK.

I plan on learning is much as I can about the K5 as i have wanted one since i was a kid and watched the movie Commando 16 billion times.

So far my lurking has only made my NEED for one of these harder to resist:saweet:

Puttin down the bottle and pickin up a wrench

My name is Dan and i abide in the southern tip of the beautiful Sierra Nevadas. My first truck was a Toyota 4runner and ever since i felt the power of shifting into 4WD, i was hooked. I followed my buddy's K5 everywhere and fell in love with it until he crahsed it and it ignited into flames(R.I.P.) After many hazy years, i found the $$$, motivation, and clarity to resurrect it from the ashes! I was looking around a bit for one that was just running and had a straight body. I picked up this 1987 K5 Blazer for $2400. It's pretty much stock except for a 4" lift and custom purple velvet door inserts(???). This is my project truck but i dont intend on keeping her in the gary for a year. I am super stoked to be aboard CK5 and have a few q's for you pros: It obviously needs tires so can i get away with putting 37s on it and what problems might i incur by doing so? What should i start working on or saving for first? I was thinking suspension(thoughts on front coil/link conversions..?) and engine work first. Lmk! Thanks!
