Introductions & Greetings

Hi, My name is hotrodpc, and I'm a truckoholic !!! And bigtime jealous of that guy up there ^^^ with 2 CUCV's !!! I have a few projects in differant stages, but none complete. As if I need more, but I still want at least a M1008 and a K5 which doesn't necessarily have to be a CUCV. SOMEDAY !!!

I'm Doug, a newbie, and I love my K5 (sounds like an AA meeting). It's a 'fully optioned '91, two-tone Red/Gray, Red interior (with the great GM paint job de jour), 350/ w 108KMI, puffin' a little smoke at start up (valve seals, I suspect). No rust, ya got that, no rust!!! Just got new channel and seals for the doors and gate, as well as regulators and motors for the door glass. One crapped out last week so I thought I'd do both at the same time. Anything I need to know?

Hi Doug. We are here to support you. I guess that's how it goes in AA. We really aren't that formal here.

Hey guys my name is jessie ive known this site for some years now but never had the intentions to join, ive own 3 k5"s in the past ten years 2 that i wrecked and one i am fixing up at the moment, ive never noticed all the cool stuff in this forum alot of the articles here have really clear up sum frustrations on some of the tough technical jobs, there is so much here to learn and to do. I got a 89 k5 that im making into a 1 ton couple days ago my buddy was driving his 74 and the rear wheel fell off shooting the wheel studs like bullets all over the place lol, definetly dont want that happening to my truck, doing your homework and doing the job right really pays off at the end, thanks ck5.

Hello, FNG from Georgia here. I'm starting a frame-off resto on my '86 K10 and I'm looking for a K5 as a daily driver in the mean time. Looking forward to reading all the info the forum has to offer!

Hello! I'm Karl, I just bought an 89 k5. It's nearly identical to a previous blazer I was given by my grandfather when I graduated high school back in 2000. I had grand plans to fix it up but being a poor college student I ended up selling it to someone who had the money and the time to realize it's potential. All I ever did to my first blazer was take the top off and put a soft top on. (thread drift alert: if any of you live near an Amish community, I had my soft top custom made by a place that worked on horse drawn nights for my old blazer and it looked better and came in cheaper than anything I've seen while doing research for my current one)

I'm excited to have a project for the winter and hopefully a beautiful k blazer to enjoy next summer.

another new guy

I am Tim, 26 and in the Army. Serving from Ft. Bliss TX right now. I have 2 and a half chevy 4x4's right now. I have a 74 K5 that needs a ton of work, a 80 k10 with tons of stuff from ORD on it, only thing left is axles and tire's, and last is a mid 80's 3/4 ton parts truck that I plan to still the 14 bolt SF out of as soon as I find a dana 60 to put up front. I love trucks and I love to make them bigger and better but right now I am on hold because I am broke as hell.

Hello

My name is Josh. I'm originally from Michigan's Upper Peninsula on the shore of Lake Superior, but now i'm stationed at Barksdale AFB in Bossier City, LA. I'm a weather forecaster for the USAF. I drive a 1986 K10 Scottsdale which for the time being is a bone stock daily driver. I would like to eventually make it a dual purpose street and trail truck with most likely a 4" and 33s or 34s, but Airman's pay makes that a little tough. I'm debating whether to keep the truck or try to find a blazer/jimmy because a back seat would be a nice thing to have. I'm no mechanic but i know my way around a vehicle (the only time my truck has seen a mechanic was to get the tranny rebuilt). I'm pretty good with older trucks without the complications from computers and what not which is why i bought my truck. I'm glad to be a part of this group and I hope to take as much knowledge as I can from everyone. Thanks.

Sorry it has taken so long to say hello.I have a 85 k10 that I have been working on for a while now,new crate engine, rebuildt the trany and transfer case, all new lower end(front to back) now doing body work-new rear corner panels, rocker panels, than painting it in original colors blue with white bottom. I have found some really great threads on this site. Thanks

Hello to anyone reading,
Mike here, a Colorado resident, owner of a 1970 K5 CST, mostly stock, this is our Mountain Cruiser and we love it.
I am starting the restoration process and need a few items; a drivers door, a fiberglass topper and a swing-away tire rack. Does anyone have a lead on these items? Oh yeah, I would also like some stock Rally Wheels w/trim rings.
Thanks for your time,
Mike

Howdy

Hi, I'm a leo, I like candle lit dinners, long walks on the, no really, My name is Daniel, from Kentucky, always been a car/truck guy, big chevy fan. I have always wanted a K5 since I was a little kid. My uncle had one all jacked up and I fell in love. I have just recently had the doe to buy one and looked for a couple of years and found a bunch of rust or more than I could afford. Finally ran across an 88 Blazer here that was from Vegas. I can't believe how solid the truck is. It's never even been undercoated and that is unheard of around here. Anywho I am looking into a lift and some big tires and hope this site can help me out.

Hello All,

I have a 72 K5 that is in need of some final parts so I can get it put together and ready for Paint and Polish.

I have a 383 stroker, 6in lift and it goes from topless to hard top all year long, mostly topless. I need the brackets and bolts to hold the top to the front window frame.

I hope this forum will allow me to help others with parts and ideas as I have many extra parts and I am will to assist anyone that needs help getting what they need.

I hope to hear from those that roll in a 72.
