79 Jimmy

Hi everyone. Just picked up a '79 Jimmy High Sierra last week and look forward to digging through this site while sprucing it up. The mechanicals are pretty solid but the interior needs some work and a couple a spots on the two year old paint job are starting to bubble. This is a factory 6.6L truck that came Hawaiian Blue/White with a White interior.

Balance bored "509" block .030 over, polished crank, eagle H beam rods, JE forged pistons, CompCams roller cam, roller rockers, AFR aluminum heads, Wieand airgap intake, Holley 750, Hedman headers, Hamburger pan.

Too bad you can't post pics.

There is a 5 posts minimum before posting/linking pics. It weeds out most of the sales pitches and other useless bots and such.

And you NEED to show us some pics, that thing sounds sweet!

old member...wanting to be more active

I've been a member here for a while, but life keeps getting in the way.

I have a 1984 K5 with 305/700r4 on 4 inch lift with 33's. Edelbrock high rise/carter afb/edelbrock RV cam/four core radiator. Kind of red neck, but not bad for $800. Have other body with no rust/dents for a combine later...might even wind up with 454.

Right now, the auto locking hubs are falling apart, so I'm putting the manual ones from the axle under my extra body on it once the wind stops blowing so cold...I don't want an ear ache.

I might adapt an earlier front clip as I like the look better on the 73-79 Chevy trucks and have an extra one around and some extra fenders too. Might make a tilt front end while I'm at it just for fun...

Stuart in southeast Kansas...

Back again men after a (3) year plus absence. Sold my 77' 2wd K5 back in 2010. Recently picked up a 90' K5 roller is need of some love. Got a great deal on it (free) from a stand up local guy in my area. Contemplating doing a 2wd conversion coutsey of a donor 82' 2wd short bed truck that is sitting in my garage. Hi my name is Danny. I'm a 43 year old father of 3. I live in Aptos, CA. I have a 2005 2500HD Duramax 4x4 SB extra cab bought new. It has just under 30k miles. The only thing I have done is to level the front end and went one size up to 265 Toyo MT. It is a great truck and wouldn't hesitate to drive anywhere in the country. I have been flirting with the idea of selling this to finance a 75 or older Blazer and install a 4bt. Maybe i'll keep it AND I look forward to checking out all CK5

Hi. My name is Danny. I live in Aptos, CA. I have a 2005 2500HD 4x4 Duramax SB with 30k miles. I've been thinking of selling this and getting a 75 or older Blazer and installing a 4bt. Maybe I should keep the HD AND get a Blazer. The reason for starting with 75 is I think CA smog laws don't regulate 75 or older gas vehicles or 89 or older diesels. As a. Result, I've noticed many very nice early to mid 80's Blazers that are priced seemingly low but I blow past those adds because I don't want mess with the smog and I can't swap with a diesel. I look forward to ckecking out all CK5 has to offer and meeting all of you here!

88 CUCV Navy edition (700R4 and 12 volt aside from inverter) with some rust being rehabilitated and upgraded in sunny central Florida. Great times!

New Here

Hey all,
I've been looking to get a 88 - 91 Blazer so I can hit the mountains with the kids and have some fun. I've been looking for a little while and one was a beater, and I was set to buy one two nights ago but they pulled out of selling it. (Piss me off) I have now located one in Missoula MT and thinking of taking friday off to go take a peek at it and maybe come home with it. I wish I could put a link on here so I could get some feedback on it.

If you're curious you can google, (Turners missoula car and truck) and look for the 91 blazer. It's blue, manual, lifted (can't determine how much though), new paint, interior looks pretty nice. I think they want a bit too much but I'm sure I can get them to come down.

Anyway, look forward to talking to you guys once I get one of these bad boys.

Rick
