Introductions & Greetings

Don't hold it against me but I'm a Miata guy. In the past I've turbocharged them, obviously did the V8 swap, parted out 7-8 of them. They are one of the few RWD platforms that handle well out of the box. The entire floor, firewall, front and rear subframe mounting locations were cut out of a Miata and welded into the SAAB. The entire drivetrain, fuel system, etc is now a direct bolt-in affair. The whole stock wiring harness will just drop into stock locations. All steering and pedal mounts are stock Miata because the firewall is intact. Turbocharged the Miata motor is good for 250WHP on stock rods, 300 with simple China forged rods. The whole car will be about 2100 lbs so even 250 whp is plenty.
Sounds like you have a good plan. Looking forward to future pics of the build on this thing. :waytogo:

Greetings from Kelowna

Hey all,
I've been lurking the forums for a while, figured it was time to make an account here. My name is Kaelen, and I am 18 years old with a lot of ambition. I have a 1980 GMC 1 ton crew cab, 2 wheel drove with a 5.9 Cummins, an NV4500, and big dreams for this ratty old truck that I have worked so hard on. I will have many questions and concerns for the work in the future, and I look forward to being a part of the forum!

Hey there all! My name is Justin, I'm 23 and have been into 4wd's all my life. My dad owned a 4x4/fab shop for 25+ years before moving on to better things. His specialty was the Square Bodies we all love and that's where my love for them began.

I currently own a 1979 Chevy K20, stock '73 350/SM465/205. It has Tuff Country EZ Ride 6'' front springs on a stock 10 Bolt, custom shackle flip & shackles (not my work, will be fixing soon) sitting atop a FF14 Bolt with disc brakes. All of this sits on 38x12.50x16.5 TSL SX's.

It was my first truck I ever bought, and will never be sold. I found CK5 through the purchase of this truck due to the windshield sticker it came with. Maybe someone will recognize it? I haven't posted really just been browsing, but I figured it would be time to get involved. So on to pics!

That link may or may not work. Our original website is down and we are working on a new one. Plus, there's only like 10 members right now so, lack of motivation for a working website (we all have each others phone numbers anyways). You can always contact me through CK5 for the time being. I have taken a few CK5ers out on some of our public trail runs. Problem is (for me anyways) funds are tight right now and I think I only got out wheeling once this year :doah:. We are still an active club in the NEA at this time though, just unsure what the immediate future holds for the club right now.

G'day all, I guess I have been here before but it has been a long time. Issues came up and 2 K5 Blazers and a K30 pickup literally got pushed out into the trees. I had a stroke this spring and realized maybe it was time to finish some of the projects.

We sold off the drag car and 1 Corvette and I have decided to dig the pickup and 1 of the Blazers out of the trees. The Blazer I picked is of course the rustier of the two but it doesn't matter much.

The truck has got the wrong differentials in it but we are getting started. I am starting out by cleaning house. We built a 14 bolt for the rear with a new Detroit locker in it along with disc brakes. I have a bare Dana 60 housing, along with new spindles, hubs, rotors, 4340 axles, u-joints, and hubs. Need to decide on a carrier for it. Open to suggestions on that.

Transfer case is a fresh 205 for t400 and I actually have the stuff to do a t475. I have a built BBC that we put together quite a while back and I guess it is time to use it. A lot of decisions to make on wheels and tires and just about everything else.

Hello there, strangers. It's been quite a while! Probably five years since I was last a member, but I'm back since I'm in the market for my roots. Figured I'd start here. How the heck are you?

I joined back in July but never posted here. I am a automotive technician currently working at a dealership. I have always enjoyed working and repairing vehicles as a child with my grandfather and my father. They taught me the basics.

I bought my 89' from a coworker. He let it sit 6 years after it jumped time. I spent a few months and a lot of money getting it back to running and driving condition. 3000 miles after I put it on the road the transmission burnt the 3-4 clutch pack. A friend of mine and I rebuilt the 700r4. The trans hits great and runs a little hot at first. I put a larger external cooler on it to remedy the issue. In August; 2000 miles after the trans rebuild, the pinion bearing in the rear went bad. Now my Blazer sits awaiting me to rebuild the rear. I will also be changing the gear ratio from 3.42 to a 3.73 as this is my daily driver.

A buddy of mine named my Blazer "Big Balls McGraw"

Three inch lift, running 33x12.50 Firestone Destination ATs. Corvette servo, zpack clutch packs, The Beast sun shell, 24"x8" trans cooler, TransGo separator plate, modified the pump to give me higher trans pressures, updated the reverse piston to prevent reverse issues when hot.

Next up will be the axles! I'm looking forward to post the pics of my soon to come axle rebuilds.

New to the forum but not new to the K5.
Had an 88 about 13 years ago now I have an 89.
Course the first one was stock and this one has a good head start on mods, though the body needs some love.

Look forward to reading and helping where I can.
Some may know me from other forums, I'm over on jeep_cj.com often as I can.
