). All in all... I was gonna say not bad for 16 years but it wasn't nearly as much fun as it sounds!
I have 2 'Trucks', a 1988 K5 that I redid from the frame up. After 10 years of plowing on NH roads it failed state inspection due to rust and was retired 2 years ago. (2012) It still runs like a top but is no longer 'street legal'. I hate to part it out but that looks like that's the way it's headed. My other truck is a 1991 K5 that I got at the end of 2012. It was a fire truck in California before that and I have to thank the guys at... Umm... (I'll have to find the registration and fill in this mind f@#t) for keeping it in tip tip shape before I got it! I had NEVER seen a K5 without rust before! Whenever it goes up on a lift, everyone in the shop usually ends up gawking at the undercarriage! I haven't had a chance to paint the topside. Being that it's plain white, I haven't dared to take the reflective markings off. Plain white trucks & plowing just don't mix, I don't care how yellow the plow is!
