Introductions & Greetings

New Member from Castle Rock, Co

Hey fellas, I'm a new owner of a 72 K5 blazer. I have 3 kids and since I have a few c10's and k10's and I love the 68-72 Chevy body style so much I wanted a blazer to make a all out elk/deer hunting rig with the acceptation of hauling the family around too! My blazer is all original Ochre yellow color (I love that color) with a 350/350 drivetrain. My plans are to slap in a 6.0/4l80e, 4" lift, safari rack on a soft top, sound system and leave body stock along with interior.

There is a wealth of knowledge on here and I'm glad to be member!

Hi guys,I'm glad to see a very friendly wecolme. My name is John, and I live in the great white north.CANADA. I have a 84 jimmy ,4" lift ,longtravel shocks, dana 44 front,14 bolt rear,on 37's goodyear mtr's.ARB lockers,700r4 trans,205 t-case and 4 wheel disc brakes.High angle park brake system,377 sbc and a 177 wiend blower. The 44 has reid knuckles on it.I hope upgrade to reid ford knuckles for I wish to install rcv axles.Axle removal with chev knuckles is a royal pain.I would like to stay with big bearing spindles something chevy has had since 1977.So I need to see if ford built a 3/4 ton dana 44 8 bolt with big bearing spindles or not. This how I spend my time dealing with this stuff.Hopefully I'm not the only nut out there ha ha.JOHN :D

Welcome to all of the guys to CK5.

Not sure if you have to be a paying member to see the regional areas of the forums, but we post up trips and meet n greets for the front range. Keep a watch there.

Hello all my name is J. Cook from Texas. I am a bonafide truck fanatic. OK boats, bikes ,cars, guns, guitars, do fit in there to. I have a 84 K5 a 86 1/2 ton Chevy 2wd truck a 3/4 ton crew cab Chevy 2wd. The 3/4 ton is the project was not running when bought from a mechanic - got it running but will take 1000s of dollars to get it going good. Also I do love those Ford Highboy trucks and old dodge trucks. My Blazer is really stock no mods yet. I did paint it, rebuild 350, rebuilt tranny , new carpet, recover front seats. I can say that restoring trucks cars etc. is soooo expensive as we all know. I consider regularly getting a second job just to get parts for my trucks. Lol I will post pics of my rides soon. The K5 is my daily driver. I am looking now for a s-10 or s-15 4x4 (1980s only) truck with a v6 as gas mileage is killing me! A fuel injected V6 is looking so good right now! I am giving a link to you tube- I hope it works --some awesome mudding 4x4s. The video will satisfy any 4x4 person and my make you teary eyed like me-- watching those trucks kick some butt .Lol

I will be hitting you all up on information on upgrading ol Top Less here, she is a 74 with a 77 face lift, which is causing some problems, got her some used shoes so I driver her around Riverside, Engine wise we cored the radiator, and new hoses, for some reason they had some squirrely shroud on it, so we dumped that and went with 2 electric fans and aluminum shrouds, fixed the cracked steering brace bracket, new tie rods, bushings, and alignment , and attached the front drive shaft, after we dropped her 3" inches, she still was up 6" , and now I am replacing floor boars, and Rocker Panel, and fixing the rear Quarter panels, lest see replaced almost all electrical switchs, and electric motors, found a top or $600,and just got the roll bar parts in, thinking of naming her the Money Pit..........

Welcome to CK5, stop in and say hello, this is a great place to make your first post and tell us a little about yourself/truck. :D
Thanks for the welcoming email. I have a 1971 K10 that is slowing becoming the machine that I want. 383 stroker, edelbrock offroad carb, rear eaton locker, 4.10 gears, sm465 and np205, 2.5" skyjacker spring lift, and goodyear duratracs 265/75 r16's. It isn't finished, probably never will be. Right now I'm trying to quiet down the shifter noise from the t/c. It has always made noise, I'm just getting older and tolerate it less now. Any ideas?

Cleveland OH New Member

Hello CK5, I'm finally a member, have been searching and reading a bit over the years.

Own a '75 K5, ebay purchase many years ago, finally starting to work on it. Currently gutted, no engine, trans or case. Just purchased new 1-ton axles, fiberglass top in restoration phase. 5" lift installed, need to swap axles etc.... LS swap in future. Sell car and truck parts for a living (more info soon). I expect to be very active on this forum. K5 or die!

Hello all. I'm from North Texas area, and have had my K5 better part of a year. It's mostly a ranch truck/toy for me and I've wanted one since I was a kid. It has its problems, and I'm slowly learning to fix them. I dropped a transfer case for the first time a couple days ago to replace all the seals.

I've been reading tons on this forum, so I figured I might as well sign up. Thanks for all of the great info on here.
