Welcome to CK5! (all of you!)
This thread is just for saying hello and providing background about yourself. For technical answers, post your questions up in the Garage. Use a thread title that describes the problem, and folks will show up with answers.
To post pictures, you must either have a minimum number of posts (it's either 5 or 15, I don't remember) or you must be a paid member. Personally, I think it's worth it to get a paid membership, as many of the pictures (including some manual pages) on this site cannot be seen otherwise. Also a couple of the forums.
For
Mbanola, the thread title might be something like "hot starting issue on '72 K5." Include as many details as might be relevant. For your issue, you haven't identified what engine your truck has, nor what type of fuel system it uses. You likely have some form of carbureted 350, but folks swap stuff out all the time. Also repost your story so folks know what level of details to provide (if they overestimate your knowledge they may skip over details that are not obvious to someone just starting out). If you do enough typing & reading you can become a master mechanic on that truck. Most any problem you can encounter on it has already happened to someone on here. And if you want to plan ahead and get an idea of what failure points are common on these vehicles, read through some build threads by folks who have similar vehicles. Then when something happens, you'll be able to say "oh yeah, so-and-so dealt with that last year. Let's see how he fixed it."
For
Zsublett, there is a sticky thread in the Garage with pictures of lift/tire combinations. It's not specific to crew cabs, but it will give you an idea of what things look like. It's called "
How will my K5/truck look with xx" tires on xx" of lift?". 1/2 hr of paging through that will likely give you the answers you need. If not, post the question in the Garage and you should get input from those interested in such things.
For
PORTnPOLISH83, sounds like a good story! You can start a build thread in the Garage (or the Driveway) and get folks' input and admiration. Nice to see another midwestern guy!
For
airborneleadtheway, thank you for your service!

Ditto about the build thread.
