Bought her a few weeks ago. 1975 all numbers matching 350/350. I'm stoked to be part of the club guys.

I was notified someone tried to log in to my account recently and it wasn't me. Should I notify someone here? Is there anything they can do?

Send a PM to the mods (I'd try coloradok5 or tRustyK5 first) describing the issue. They may be able to help.

Random online login attempts aren't rare.

Thanks! Good to know it's common. I thought it might have been some random web crawling thing or something.

howdy y'all, my name is Michael. I've been taking a break from 4x4s and all for the past couple years, but now I'm getting back into it. I've always been around trucks and blazers, dirt drags, mud bogs, trail riding. I love building and helping others too. hope to meet some new friends out there and get back out on the trails soon

this is my current truck, well I've owned it for years, and my dad bought it new, but I just got it back on the road, and will be slowly restoring it. ill be finding another truck to turn into a trail rig down the road. anyways thanks y'all for letting me join

Howdy

Hello, all! My Name is Chad from Pleasant Grove, UT. My "hobby" is an '83 GMC Jimmy, 6.2 na(converted over to Banks Turbo); doing a SLOW restoration on it. Given my work schedule, I don't get much "playtime" to get what I'd like done on it all at once, only bits and pieces. It's been guarding a spot in the garage for over 2 years, now. It has several things electrically that I'm working out when I can get to it. Everything else is stock, so far as I know- no lift, 31"s.
considering motor swap "time limited"- among other things for this little beast. It has been a good runner in the past, currently not in "running" condition. Starts, idles rough until it warms up, then stalls out.
Just a few things I'm working on, when I have time.

Welcome to the club! I also have an '83 6.2 na (not converted over to Banks Turbo). I like those engines. :)

What sort of electrical issues have you been having? That engine has pretty minimal electrical wiring... :dunno:

Not much, as far as electrical. All minor stuff, Dome light's missing, the auto glow-plug circuitry was by-passed before I got it, nothing too terrible, but I'd like to get it back to being auto to the plugs vs a push button. Biggest issue I'm working on is the motor- and the "scrap" time I get is enough to look at it, figure out where I was before; then close up the garage again....

Ok. For the glow plugs, there are several modern glow plugs with long run times (vs. the 2 seconds or so that the original AC 9G plugs would run on the controller), so you can have significantly reduced startup times if you set the controller up to run longer "on" cycles with newer plugs instead of using the original logic with the old plugs (which have probably burned out and been replaced by now anyways).

Just my $.02 observation from playing with my cycle times (I've have several forms of both automatic and push button control over the lives of my trucks).

Headed to look at my first k5 blazer today. it's an 85 with 3/4t axles and 37" military tires. I'm very familiar with offroad stuff so checking out the axle swap isnt gonna be hard. Anything in particular I should look for on these old beasts? Also have a chance to buy my buddies 87" for a killer deal but it needs some motor work like a major tune up
