Hello all. My name is Justin. I've been spying on this forum for some time while I have researched and found the truck I want.

My new truck:
1991 GMC Suburban V2500 SLE
350 TBI
4L80E/NP241
10 bolt front/14 bolt rear with 3.73s

I'm pumped to fix this truck and glad to finally be a part of the forum!

New Member

Hi, new member from Pittsburgh PA! Bought my first GM square body about a year ago; a 1989 Chevy Suburban V1500 that was handled by Centurion. I've always been a GM fan though. It's been a daily driver/project since then. I'm sure I'll have questions for those of you that are more knowledgeable about these vehicles eventually. Glad to see such a big collection of square body fans here.

See's getting a bit rough body-wise, but I've gotta say this is my favorite vehicle out of everything I have ever owned.

Hey Ya'll

Just recently bought my first K5. It's an 86 with 305/10 bolt and a 12 bolt. I also purchased a 1978 K20 w/ a 350/10 bolt and a 14 bolt. I'm just getting started on the transition. So far I have only upgraded the steering wheel, put new tail light lenses on because the PO had them so tinted you couldn't see the brake lights in the daylight, and built some seat spacers so I didn't feel like I was driving my Daddys truck.

Hi...I'm JD and I have 2 Chevy K5 Blazers. One is a 1976 and the other is a 1978. Both have 383 Strokers and 7" lifts with 38" tires on them. I am having issues lately smoging either one, and I saw a post by a Tonyraca in San Jose, CA. who mentioned that his passed smog. I would like to find out how ( besides having a 'smog guy' ) he did it. Anyone with any good info, please let me know!

New K5 owner here! I've always liked K5's, but never actually bought one until now. Scored a decently clean '86, pretty much stock. Sadly it's only a 305, but I would really love to do an LQ4/4L80E swap. I plan to fix all the minor issues and keep it a mostly stock weekend toy.

Need help

My 89 K5 keeps snapping tailshafts. Has 6inch suspension 3inch body and 38 swampers. I'm thinking the angle of drive shaft is too much?? Anyone have any ideas as to what keeps snapping them. On my fourth one. No heavy wheeling.

Welcome. Post a new thread in the garage section. Specs on the truck and pictures of the drive shaft angles.

You probably ought to get a CV/ driveshaft that can handle the angle ...I had the same problem with my old yota... had a custom driveshaft made that had a CV joint on it that compensated for the added angle

Here's the place I used...

Central mass here

Hey all, from central mass. Just picked up an 87 1/2 ton suburban a couple months ago. Drove it back from Addison / Jackson Michigan. Wonder if anyone is from around there and knows the truck? Anyways, I'll be doing an 5.3/4l60E/np241C swap soon. The 700R4 is crapping out on me. I'm sure ill have some questions but have done quite a bit of research already. Have been a huge fan of the site for years.

Also own an 84 Long bed 1 ton swapped on 42s, and an 85 K20 Plow / landscape rig.

Hello from Raleigh NC.

I was a member years ago, back now for good I hope. Just picked up a 1991 v1500 suburban that I am working on and hopefully will post a build thread of it, can I post pics here as attachments? Anyways I look forward to contributing.

What is up!?! I've lurked around here for long enough; time to join. I used to own a 72 blazer but I gave up on it and have always regretted it. This month I'll be buying a 73-75 and I'm so excited. Let me know if any of you have one for sale. I'm also interested in half cab solutions. Thanks!

Hi, My name is Dave.

I've recently sold my Jeep and now have a 99 Suburban I'm going to build. I wanted something that fit the family better. I'm shooting for an expedition rig with an influence from rock crawling in the past.

New to CK5. First post. Just saying hello.

Hi to all you chevy fans. In October of 2014, I traded my 2002 2wd trailblazer with a salvage title with a local guy for an 84 K5 (I had him throw in some extra cash on the deal ). This truck has had it's original 305 replaced with a 327 at some point in its life (not by me ). Has a thm400 transmission which I believe to be an add on as well. It's my understanding that the 84 model didn't have the 400 as an original option. It also came with headers and new flow master dual exhaust. Since i have had it, I have installed a new edlebrock intake, holley carb, hei distributor, plugs, wires, and mile marker manual locking hubs. I think it has a mild cam but do not know that for sure. No lift on it... Yet. I have been looking at CK5 for a while now and thought it was high time to join. I look forward to learning from this wealth of knowledge.:bow:
