Introductions & Greetings

The only way to get the TH400 in a Blazer from the factory was in an M1009 CUCV (Military Blazer). Post pics.

Martin

Thanks for the reply Martin. I am trying to figure out how to post some pics. It's not a diesel so that confirms the suspicion of a replaced transmission. Any tips on posting pics? When I tried, it prompts me to enter the URL of the pic... I don't have a URL for them, they are on my HD, not online.

You have to be a paid member to post outside of this area. At least from what I can find.

anyone can post pics... just host em on photobucket and paste the link into the little pic icon in the reply box....

non members are restricted to posting/thread starting, in the "garage".. no lounge, yr specific, classifieds, etc...

Thanks for the tip ryoken. I hope this works.

Thank you. I will keep the group posted with any changes as I'm sure I will have plenty of questions. I am about to bolt in a s10 bench seat in the very back for a make shift 3rd row.... I have a feeling questions will arise when I finally get a chance to get that project underway. Probably next weekend.:dunno:

feel free to start a build thread in the "Driveway" too to document it..

Ah got you. Well I was hoping to invite some members here for offroad runs but I can't start a thread for the events. I am doing a trail run and poker game near sparks on July 18th? So to post that I need to be a member to start the thread in offroad?

that'd probably be ok in the garage.. a mod may not agree, don't know..

Thank you DEMON44. Happy for the reassurance. It's my understanding the 400 is a very strong and reliable tranny and has proved to be so far in this case. But with only three forward gears, I have wondered about swapping it out for something with an overdrive. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thinking about the conversation I had with Martin ( 82355 ), would all you veteran chevy guys agree that the following diagram of transmission pan shapes is correct and a decent way to identify a transmission? If so, then I have the thm400. If not, perhaps I should investigate further.

it's best to start putting tech questions in the garage.... don't wanna clutter the greeetings thread with tech... and welcome to our show! :pimp:

Well guys just wanted to make my introduction. My name is Daniel, living in Farmville Virginia, just picked me up a '72 the other day been wanting one for a while so pretty excited. Had an 84 when I was younger, really enjoyed that one so I'm hoping I enjoy this one a lot more. Here's a picture of her looks pretty good but definitely has some little issues that needs to be fixed. I'm sure I'll be able to get plenty of information from you guys about what to do and how to do it!
