Introductions & Greetings

My name is Ken Johnson and I just joined coloradok5. I've been a fan for years. My first Blazer was a 1970; which my best friend bought while in high school. Now I have a 1981 K5 which I have done many upgrades and work to. The stock 305 was replaced with a crate GM 350 bored over .30, a new transmission, new Yukon .410 gears with lockers in the front and back, 35" BFG MT2's, new paint, new interior carpet. It has a 2 1/2" suspension lift with a 2" body lift. I still plan on more projects. I would like to repaint it, get custom bumpers, and maybe get fender trims and a winch.

Hi my name is Preston, i'm a 20 year old college student at TCU but this summer I have been starting an LS swap on my 84 Blazer. I have had the car since I was 15 and my dad had it before then, so I am really wanting to make it better than ever! Hopefully I will start up a build thread soon. Thanks!

Sorry I'm having trouble adding images. What's the best way to add them? I have pics on my PC and in Photobucket. Sorry I'm old school.

goto photobucket and left click the pic you want to paste to make it bigger ... then rightclick the url address thats labeled " Direct" ... then on the posting screen here ...you'll see a small yellow box with a mountain in it ...left click that and right click or select it with a left click and type ctrl V to paste then post the pic ...its really easy...here I'll show you from my photobucket pic...

Hey everyone. My name is Josiah. Stumbled across this site after looking for something with more information on lifts and what not. Anyways here is my truck. 77' K-20 Camper special. Has a mild 350/350 setup. 2.5" suspension and 3" body lift. All of that was done by the previous owner. All I've installed was the new wheels, tires, LED's, and new stereo equipment. She's my daily so my mods have to be easily done for now. Eventually I would like to do a 5.3 swap. Next thing in line is to replace the front leaf springs and shocks all around.

Evening gents,

Had a few Blazers over the years. Mild to wild. 72 stock, 75 on 36's, and a 77 on 44's. Really been missing my 72 and looking to build another 69-72 with a LS motor and 4l80e for some daily driving. Enjoying the site and seeing what everyone is working on.

Thanks
Mike

That's what I'm building it as. I want it to be an all around rig. Good on the road and also be able to handle the trails, but will not be doing any rock climbing.

Thats exactly what i built my burban for and no crawlin' either ... been there done that with a built yota years ago ... these are too long and too heavy for that stuff ... sleeping in the back is the ticket though ! the only difference with mine than yours is Mines an 86 and has a 6" lift, and is a 6.2 open pipe diesel ...

Yeah I'm keeping mine a gasser. I will prob stay around 4 inches of lift but need to fig out how to get it to ride better because it rides like a tank right now and not much flex.

That's exactly what I'm intending as well. Looks like you are both quite a ways ahead of me, though.

Welcome to the club!

I'm a new member here from central Minnesota. I have always been a GM fan, but for reasons I don't really understand I became a strong authority on small ford trucks. Anyway, I finally got a Chevy to work on, a 1984 Chevy k5 blazer. It is all stock as far as I can tell. It will be a first for me, as I have never messed with a carb'ed vehicle before. As my name suggests, I am big into 2 strokes, especially dirtbikes, so I am familiar with carbs. Still, a big edelbrock 4 barrel is a long way from a simple dirtbike carb.

Welcome to the club! Nice to see another guy from the upper Midwest. I assume you're North and/or West of the cities?

Yes, I am about an hour NW of the metro now, close to St Cloud. I might be moving further north closer to Brainerd soon.

New guy here

I came to this forum looking for advice about an issue with my transmission that my 1991 R2500 suburban is having. Seems to have the most activity for suburban related post. Thanks!

Yes I agree, I looked at several other sites and this one seems to me too to have alot of Suburban stuff !

Welcome to the group !

Hey guys. GM fan. Picked up a 72 Blazer about a year ago. Just got it on the road. Got it for free. Took the top off, built a cage. Lifted it and painted it black. The body is real bad. But I just couldn't let the previous owner junk it
