Introductions & Greetings

Thanks! That bed looks nice! My next build is my 89 cc. It'll be my tow rig. 2wd, shortbed flatbed dually 12valve and an Allison cuz I'm into the whole garbage truck sound.

Been trolling around here for a while but I've been too lazy to register until now. Not from Colorado and I don't have a K5 but what I do have should fit in here somewhere. I currently own an 85 crewcab, an 89 crewcab, 76 k20, and a 77 c20. All 4 need a lot of work but right now the c20 is getting all my attention. It already has a warmed up aluminum headed 468 with an Ultradyne roller cam and a few other goodies. I swapped in a NV4500 this fall that turned out to be junk so rather than going back to my th400 I decided to go crazy and swap in my reman 4x4 nv4500 with a 203/205 from NWF Dana 60 front, 52" springs in the front, and a shackle flip in the back. I plan on keeping the lift around 4" and doing a mild boatside and a ton of fender "trimming". I'll be starting a build thread soon and I am looking forward to getting to know all of you on here!

Start build threads. Post pics.

Hello all... New to this site... 1st time I have made the switch from having jeeps. Figured I wanted something bigger and better for all the camping and off-road trips I have planned with my son.

I am researching everything i want to do to to the vehicle I plan to get which is a 90 gmc jimmy v1500... Anybody have any good sites I can look up for replacement parts on the interior, underside skid plates, winch bumper and tire carrier?

I would assume there are many sites out there for this type of vehicle I just have to take out all my ideas of what I have done to my past jeeps and change that to one of these is all?

Well I hope these vehicles are as tough as I hope they are. Looking forward to seeing what everyone has done to there Blazers/k5s/jimmys

Welcome to ck5! There are a lot of sites for accessories but "DIY4X" and "Off Road Design" will cover about 80% of everything you might want to do.

There are places, but it will be somewhat less easy than jeep stuff. You can't throw a stick at the internet without finding a website that sells stuff to fit jeeps. Try finding a swing away spare tire carrier for our trucks. I know a couple, but nothing like jeeps.

However, it's all out there, sometimes you just have to dig a little. Welcome to the site!

I have piles and piles of catalogs for jeep. Sad thing I have a kept all my 4wd and four wheeler magazines since I was a kid... But can't remember where I hid them. Good thing is I know what I want.

Thnx for other sites to check out

Hey everyone, my name's Stephen. I'm 21. Just bought my first blazer June of 2015. She's a white 89. So far I've just added some 33x12.5 tires on 20x9 wheels and done mainly just some cosmetic things like painting various parts. Looking to run a 4 inch lift on 35's soon as I wear out these 33's. Excited to be a part of the club! Already found some good stuff on here!

Oh, also, what's the easiest way to post pics on this thing? Wanna show ol' girl off

Lots of people use photobucket. I eat crayons, so that has never been easy to me.

When typing a post, look at the bottom next to post reply. It says upload file or photo. That's the route I go.

Welcome aboard and post some pictures once you get it figure out!

Hi everyone. My name is Joe. I'm 24 from the Green Mountain State (Vermont). I'm currently stationed in Coastal Georgia, and I have a slight Chevy problem according to my wife. I started with an 81 custom deluxe 10. I've had a procession of 90s bodied k1500 and k2500s since then. Having grown up in the backwoods, 4x4 was a way of life for me early on but it wasn't until I joined the military that I had a steady enough paycheck to support my habit. Currently I have a dd 90 k1500 sc 5 speed, a 93 Z71 sc step side roller, a 99 k2500 454 suburban (wife's car/ tow rig) and an expedition that she had to have and then hated. One of the 1500s will get the 6 inch skyjacker that came with the 93, and the other, probably the 93 will get a sas and be a dedicated play truck. Spent way too much time blowing up drive lines on my 89 daily trying to be a weekend warrior following my buddy's around with their one ton bronco. Sorry if this got long winded

welcome Joe.... me thinks you found the right place.... ;)

This is one of the Broncos that ruined my last two daily drivers. This time, we hadn't even left for the mud park yet.

Hi everyone my name is Travis I'm from Tacoma washington. I just purchased my first ck5 yesterday afternoon. It's a 1989 mechanically it's in great shape. Has just over 100k original miles on it. I've skimmed through this forum and I really like all the help and feedback the members give eachother. I be starting to fix the few things that are wrong with it this coming week so bare with me if I ask some newb questions. I'm really looking forward to learning more about my vehicle and getting advice and tips from all of you.

Hey guys! This is long overdue, but I still haven't participated too much here, mostly just lurking and searching, so I'm still pretty much a total noob. I'm Chris and I'm from Williamsburg, VA, but I'm in school about an hour out of Atlanta, Georgia.

I have a 1989 K5 with ZERO rust :saweet: that I bought in October 2014 and have been using as my DD since. Don't have it here at school right now, my buddy Will and I couldn't quite finish up the engine swap over Christmas break :doah:The replacement is nothing special, just a nice sturdy 350 crate from Jegs w/ an Edelbrock performer intake.

I guess you could say I'm a first generation mechanic. No one in my family is into anything automotive, so my budget is pretty much halved since I have to buy tools and crap myself. Thankfully Will (my best friend and also a k5 owner) and his dad have been helping me learn and lending me tools since I have no training and pretty much have been teaching myself everything.

Anyway, here are some pictures of my baby:

Y'all are awesome! Thanks!

Hello everyone. My name's Enrique and I just bought my first Blazer, a 1985 K5. I will have lots of questions as this is my first adventure in 4x4/off road vehicles and Chevy.

Hey all,

I am a returning member. I think I was known by Stroked72Blazer but couldn't get logged in with that one. I sold my first gen rust bucket to find my race car, and it was a rust bucket. Well things are better now so I am looking for another one.
I am currently driving a 97 c1500 with a newly built vortec 350. The truck has about 325,000 on it so I am thinking of swapping the motor to a decent roller if I can find one.
